Change

Today is the third day of Chinese New Year already. When I came to the street these days, I found that Chinese New Year has changed in many ways.

In the past, all the people celebrated the festival and no shops were open on Chinese New Year holidays, only a few shops such as fruit shops or 24 hours convenient stores will be open. But the world has changed, now most shops are open on Chinese New Year holidays except some very small shops. Supermarkets are open, Chinese restaurants are open, boutiques are opened. The streets are as prosperous as usual.

Yesterday I had lunch at McDonald’s, it was so crowded. Then I went to the plaza with most shops opened for big big sales. Maybe because of the economical factors that people didn’t want to miss the golden time to earn money, they give up their holiday which I think was against the tradition of this big festival. It is a pity that when the shops open, all the staff have to come back to work and they have no time to visit their relatives and friends.

Anyway, tonight I will be leaving for Beijing, a very cold place to celebrate the new year and to practise for my exam if possible haha. Hope I will not get a cold because of the cold cold weather over there!  Wish everyone of you happy Chinese New Year with your beloved family and friends. 🙂
