Testing new photographic equipment
I spent quite a lot of time today playing with; using the scientific method, my macro tubes.
I set the camera to capture priority and kept it at f11. Now that the test is completed, perhaps I should have used the macro mode. Maybe that will be a test for tomorrow.
All I took pictures of is the tip of the iPhone charger cord. Not very exciting, and the results are what I expected to a degree.
In a few days, I’ll look at them all carefully and see which ones are sharpest at close range. My guess it will be my 85mm prime.

I’m not sure how thrilled my mom and her husband will be that I’ll be carrying around a camera the whole time and taking hundreds of pictures.
During my last vacation; 14 days, I took over two-thousand pictures. Of those, about 900 are what I would consider show quality. However, I narrowed it down to 28; two a day every day, to show my vacation. That was tough given how many places I visited. Even at 28 seems like too many pictures to show off for two weeks.

My lenses are clean, I have a handle on the microtubes, and now all I need to do is work with my 2x teleconverter to get a feel for taking pictures. I would like to be knowledgeable with it before I’m in the middle of a 1 sec decision as an animal does something remarkable.
My mom is excited for me to come down. She doesn’t think I’ll stray far from the community the house is located. I have no idea, all I know is I will be spending lots of early mornings and late evenings; golden hours,

Oh, I have those micro tubes too! And have yet to figure them out. Take the pictures- I also take millions and am always so glad I did. I went to England last May for two weeks and ended up with over 3000, and that was after editing and deleting. But they make me happy and that is the important thing. I did manage to whittle them WAY down for parental viewing since normal people don’t care to sit through 3000 pictures, but that was just a matter of making a special folder. Do what pleases you!
@ednamillion I’m still learning, but so far getting good results. To really use them well, one needs a tripod. This may make it difficult shooting plants outdoors. Too bad it’s so cold and snowy here or I would test it out tomorrow. Also, there are currently no flowers outside. 🙁

@axalotal – it does, immensely. I am not saying you’re wrong. Clearly this is your niche. While I have no love for the DNC , I see a logical fallacies all over and presumptions (correlation/causation, in that proximity is not the same full total involvement. Also in regard to the rise of MS13 correlating to, but not proven causal to or by Clinton in office.)
Again, I am not being hostile, and I appreciate the need to conduct my own research, but substantiative evidence is missing, under heavy cover of inference.
