Photo’s taken today – lots of pics
Wow, adding pictures is a much more difficult process than need be. As someone who has built several websites, that’s easier than adding a photo to OD2. Plus, if I decide to delete them, they are gone from my diary which is annoying since that’s the whole purpose of me writing here and posting pictures. It’s to create memories for myself and document my life. Although why I have no idea.
All were taken today other than the last one of Medhia which was shot a year ago.

Taken Dec 2016. This is the beautiful and wonderful Medhia. You can see how green and open her eyes are.
I unequivocally hate this system. I can’t resize pictures, and at this point, all the fun has been taken out of keeping photos in my diary. They are all on my server which I can access from anywhere. I really don’t need to post anymore in OD2.
It’s easy to tell that my photo skills are rusty. In a lot of them, the settings are slightly off.

Seriously… this is not the layout. None of my captions are on this entry, there is a double that wasn’t there and one is not a link. WTF is wrong?

I’m confused. Seriously. I find it totally simple to add photos to OD. Once done, the only way they’d be gone from your diary is if you deleted them from OD. Please explain to me. Thanks,
@singer All my photo’s were too large to upload. The allowance is 8 mb, and most of my pictures were over 30. It never occurred to me during post production to consider the size of the file.
Knowing that Flickr is supported by OD2, I tired using that site. It took over an hour to create a folder to keep all the photo’s in. My plan was to keep a folder for each entry.
Then when I started putting the Flickr links in the entry, it worked fine, other than not being able to scale or manipulate the photo’s in any manner.
Then when I went back and looked at the post, one picture didn’t show up; it did during the writing process, none of the captions appeared.
And one photo somehow duplicated itself.
Because the photo’s are stored on an external website, if anything happens to that site, or I decide one day to move pictures around, the link on this entry will be broken.
I see. Of course! In addition to keeping my super large photos from my DSLRs stored on hard drives and CDs, I also upload them all to my iPad so they can be shared. When traveling, I put them on the iPad every night and then also save them to my laptop. The iPad files are compressed and aren’t all that big, so uploading hasn’t been a problem.
@singer All my raw photo’s go directly to my server; it’s like my own private cloud, and from there all the work/showing off is done from the central location.
There isn’t a need for me to store any files other than applications on any of my devices. All my personal files are centralized.
Sometimes I don’t realize how big 500 mb really is. Somehow to me 10 TB seems small.

@wildrose They could be siblings. Medhia just short of arrived one day and never left. I have no idea where she was before that. 😉

Hi @axalotal – is it the size limit that is bothering you most about the images, or are there other things that you think we should look into?
Thanks for the note @thediarymaster. I fully understand the size limitation. My photo’s from 2016 are over 1 tb. That’s a lot of storage space.
I don’t think there is anything on OD2’s end. A tutorial would be wonderful. You’re entry helped, it pointed me to Flickr. Unfortunately, that site just compounded my frustrations.
Is it possible to resize photo’s and position them where you want within an entry? I remember that being an option in OD1.
If there was a way to insert the code, I would just link to the photo’s on my private server.
Clearly, I have no idea how to properly post pictures without a lot of frustration.
Thanks for all your hard work. It is genuinely appreciated, even on days that aren’t that great, it’s still wonderful having OD2 back!

It took me a bit to figure out how to post pictures and resize but once I go it, it was great. I also want to find somewhere I can post from in fear of running out of space on here.
You take cool photos and your kittty seems very special.
