Just another day

Today was like most days.  Didn’t do much other than

• workout x 3
• feed media
• work on fixing my server
• eat
• Chat with my Egyptian friend x 2

I lead a pretty productive life at the moment.

My tech is doing a strange thing.  Last night, I put my phone, Xbox and laptop on a new router.  Mostly because it’s faster.  My server is still connected to the router from my ISP.  While all connect to the server, when I try to cast from my MacBook or phone to the Xbox it doesn’t work.  I can stream the media to each device but not cast it.

For now, they are all back on the same network.  I’ll try and figure this out at some point.

This workout out three times a day is going well.  I walk for an hour after each meal and, well, if I’m honest the only reason I’m doing it is for the steps.  This way I can beat my mom’s husband who is my only competition on our weekly Fitbit challenges.

I was looking at my bank account earlier and wondering why I had so much money.  I completely forgot my condo fees wouldn’t come out until tomorrow.  Then I’ll have the amount I expected.  Drat, it would have been nice to have the extra money.

I’ve finally convinced my Egyptian friend that we don’t need two companies. Instead, Stuart is a division of our business.  That was a month-and-a-half long battle.  But, I understand, as an engineer he sees the world differently.

Amazon sent me an email letting me know that the Kinect adapter is finally back in and will be shipped tomorrow.  It seems like it’s been months since I ordered it.  It turns out it was exactly two weeks today.  With a little luck; I’ve had none with deliveries. Lately, it will be here tomorrow. I’m close enough that Prime shipments usually arrive the next day, as long as I order them by 1 p.m.

Starting in January, I’m thinking about either finding a mindless part-time job or volunteering somewhere.  Then I remember how much care Medhia needs and I begin to wonder if it’s a good idea.  I need the social interaction.  There are days where the only person I talk to is my Egyptian friend.

Every time I write Egyptian friend I laugh, when I look back at OD  year from now, I may not know who that is since I have several.

My house is so dry.  All my plant’s soil is starting to pull away from the pots; is this a proper sentence?.  I need to be watering them more than once every two weeks.

Tomorrow is my big data dump.  All my external drives; about 25 TB, are going to be put on my server, sorted, and stored or erased.  Since some of the files go back to the days of my Commodore 64, most can probably be deleted.  I’m relatively sure I can’t even open the majority of the files.
