a programmer's mindhiding behind poetryto describe his world

"No Need for Poetry" is the poetry journal and creative outlet of a Java developer and self-described "very bad poet". This journal has been active since 2000, and is updated when his muse chooses to be on speaking terms with him (for his muse is a fickle mistress).

The poet's preferred forms are of Japanese derivation, consisting primarily of haiku, senryu (poetry sticking to haiku form, though not on traditional topics such as nature), and tanka (a 31 syllable form approximately 13 centuries old). From time to time, the poet also creates haiga, artworks derived from, complimenting, or tangential to a haiku/senryu, and presents them in these pages.

Accompanying each poem is generally a note regarding the piece, which may or may not serve to clarify the poet's moods or insipration for the concerned reader.

The poet has one book, The Office Garden, to his name, and is currently working on both a second collection of poems and a tale in verse, both due for publication during 2004.

For those unfamiliar with the anime and manga "Tenchi Muyo!", the pseudonyms that appear here and there are by and large taken from that series and describe, decently, the relationships between the poet and those others mentioned.

Notes, critiques, praise and comments are more than certainly welcomed by the poet. For longer notes, or more privacy, feel free to contact the poet at his email address, tenchi@opendiary.com.
