Off to the races!
Today Papa and I are joining our neighbors on a bus trip to the horse races. We will have a table in the "club" house and hopefully a good view of the track. I’ve never seen a real horse race, as in jockeys and starting gates and trumpets–only "cowboy" races that start out with a gun shot and are always fun–and am very excited.
The forecast is for torrential rain this afternoon, so don’t know how that will effect the whole trip, but I don’t have to worry about driving, keeping out of the rain, or finding my car afterwards. Just another one of the great perks of living this long, and finding our retirement community.
I have no idea how to bet, but I will bet a couple of bucks. How to pick a horse? Not a clue. Never too old to learn….
I’ve been to that kind of horse race a couple of times. I always picked horses based on their names… I never won… lol

I was told to never bet on a grey horse, but I’ve seen some win.

Hope that rain didn’t take away from your fun yesterday…and I wouldn’t know how to pick a winner, either. I’d go with the prettiest one…. 🙂
