Joining in

     We’ve lived in our apartment community for 7 months now but have not been able to take advantage of very many of the activities that are offered to us.

     We signed up for three "trips" in July and one in August, besides the usual "socials" that we have been going to. There will be a concert with food and drink and a barbeque. One trip is to a Rockies/Marlins baseball game.  Horse races.  Trip to the mountain casinos.  And a dinner/theater.  They use a lottery system to determine who gets to go on the trips as bus seats are limited.  We find out tomorrow if we get to do any of them.

     Writing group is taking a break for the summer.  Bridge clubs are kind of hit & miss while people take trips.  We are leaders for our senior group (Fab 50’s) for July, August & September, so have to plan the meeting menus, programs and outings for those months.   And we will be able to see and hear the concerts in the park across the lake from our own deck which go on once or twice a week.   So much for nothing to do… I’m going to have to take a real close look at my calendar.  I have a feeling it’s going to be full.  Just hope it cools off.  I can’t do this stuff if it’s hot!

     I hope we can spend some time with the family as well.
