It’s over.
Tax year 2012, for this volunteer, is finished. Yesterday was my last day. I prepared nine returns and reviewed one. I was beat when we got out of there, but it felt good to know I had helped so many people over the last twelve weeks.
Papa still has two more days to work. Then I can get all this computer equipment and boxes of supplies out of my apartment. Some will go back to the AARP district coordinator, the rest into our storage unit downstairs. After that, it’s time to dig out the summer clothes that are there and take some of the winter stuff down.
Then I have hope of finally getting around to decorating our apartment. When we moved in, well, we just moved in. Then it was the holidays. Then tax season. Now I can sit and look at the place and decide how to make it more homey. I do plan to be here for a long time. If I had been able to spend more time looking at the apartment before we had to get out of the house, I would have been much more selective about what I kept and what I got rid of. Going to have to go shopping. (Isn’t that too bad?)
I spent Monday morning in the dentist’s office again. They were very gentle with me this time and I don’t have a black and blue cheek. But I think that was because of the medicine I was on the last time. (The cardiologist took me off the plavix they put me on last summer when I had that episode with my heart and the easy bruising stopped.) Anyhow, I got a temporary crown and another filling.
We had a snow day Tuesday. It wasn’t as bad as they had predicted here, but things were pretty well shut down. It got real cold–single digits, unusual for here, especially this late in the season–but is slowly warming up and the Colorado sun is making short work of the snow. They are saying maybe some flurries again today. I think I am ready for winter to be over. I was just getting into walking along the lake. Not going to do it when it’s cold, windy or icy!
I need to get on with this day. Hope everything is good with all my readers.
Glad to know it’s come to an end for you. Hope you can relax now.

I heard that sigh of relief clear over here. LOL! I wish I liked to shop more. It sure would make decorating easier.

It’s so nice that you volunteer to help people out with those tax returns….but glad you’re all done and get to relax a bit more now. Hope this weekend brings you plenty of chances to do that! *HUGS* Thank you for remembering Denise in your prayers. It’s been so crazy…but I know she feels the peace from all of you thinking of her. I do, too…*HUG*

And here i haven’t even done mine yet. Trying to figure out if it’s worth it, what with the IRS still pending a decision with 2010 and 2011, due to my requests for reviews, etc. It’s all such a mess!!! RYN: Thanks for saying I made the right decision. I was soooo tempted to just defend myself and tell the co. to eff off, but where would that get me? No job really quickly, that’s for sure…..Thanks again.
