Hello!

I was pleasantly surprised when OD popped right in this morning.  But now that I’ve cruised through my favorites, it is getting sluggish again…  Fingers crossed, here….

     What’s going on with me?

Well, Papa is still kind of dragging although the fever and swelling are gone.  And now he’s lost his voice.  He’s going to the doctor again today.

Me, I got over my UTI before I could get in to see the doctor so I cancelled the appointment.  I’m still not feeling great though.  Having a hard time sleeping at night and fighting the blues….

Life goes on, even so.  We are excited that Mike is going to be preforming at our community’s monthly "Cocktails and Classics" gathering tomorrow.  He recently was in Nashville for meetings with people who worked with him in areas like performance and production, getting his stuff in the hands of the right people and a writing workshop.  He came home with a brand new song that is just really pretty.  He has his third song at #20 on HotDisc Top 40 in Europe this week.  Last week he was interviewed by an internet radio show here on the Front Range…  He is having so much fun!  Just makes his Papa and me grin.

It’s time to get really serious about Papa’s 80th birthday party.  We have reserved the "commons" of our apartment building.  This is a kitchen, lobby and great room that we can use for free.  My plan is to have open house early Sunday afternoon (Nov. 1) for the residents with cake and coffee and a dinner party at five for our family and friends.  My sister is coming from California and will stay until after Thanksgiving. Our daughter and son-in-law will drive down from Montana and maybe bring a couple of friends for the weekend.  Papa has to work on the guest list. I don’t think we can accommodate any more than 40.

I have to get a caterer lined up.  Have a couple of leads but have not made direct contact with any yet.

Fall has arrived and the Aspen trees outside my window are showing it.  We are having typical autumn weather with cool mornings and warm (hot) days.  Had a hard freeze last week, with a little snow and rain.  Maybe we will have more of precip Friday.  Our community busses have been running folks up the mountain the last couple of days to glimpse the glory, but we haven’t gone with them, much as I enjoy the colors…and the elk gatherings.  We’re just not up to snuff,

Hope it’s lovely where you are.

Sounds like things are going well for you 🙂 We sure could use a hard freeze to get rid of all the allergens!

I hope the health is all good by the time of the party.
