Day at the races
Like Spain, the rain stayed mainly on the plain. Was a beautiful day at the track. Around 80 degrees, slight breeze. But we were inside, anyhow. Inside the beautiful glassed-in stadium, at our semi-circle table with a couple of guys from the other buildings, with a small TV which gave us constant data and pictures, so we could get a better look at the backstretch. Snack bar and betting cages close by.
It took me awhile to figure out how to read the program. We also had a "tip" sheet. I used all kinds of strategies to pick my horses. Bet on a name. Bet on a jockey. Bet on an owner. Bet on a "tip." Always to win, place and show. Didn’t come home a big winner, but didn’t come home a big loser either. Down a few bucks, but chalk that up to the entertainment and education.
Might have to go back out there sometime….
i think the excitement of horses racing would be worth losing a bit of money but winning would be better. take care,

Sounds like a pretty nice outing, and didn’t even cost you a bundle for all that excitement and fun. :))

The one and only time I went to the horse races was at Colorado Springs and I loved it! I’m glad you had a pretty day!
