‘Cause I can!
I’m writing an entry today. Whooppee!
It’s been so long since I could do this, I don’t know what I need to write about.
Big thing: We got a new car. Papa traded his Ford Express in on a Lexus. It’s got so many whistles and bells, I have not tried to drive it, for fear I’ll push the wrong button. We even had to go to "school" to learn what they all did, but I was in the back seat and didn’t learn a thing. We need to go somewhere that there is not so much traffic where I can practice….
Now along that same line, we have agreed that it’s time to get rid of "my" car. It is going to Rusty. They will take it as soon as he and his mom get back from a family reunion in ND later this month. His dad wants him to practice driving it so that when he takes the test for his license this fall he can do it in the car that he will be driving and be comfortable with it. Makes sense to me.
We really don’t need two cars any more: Except for two Thursdays a month when he has Kawanis and I have bridge. I think we have that worked out, though. I can take him to his meeting and he can catch a ride home the one week and one of the ladies I play with says she will be happy to pick me up the other week. This is just about the only time I ever use the car. Usually, we both go, or one stays home anyway.
I got up, raring to go for a walk along the lake…but the wind is whipping it up to the point that I lost my desire to get out there… Seems I’m good at finding excuses.
Getting in the summertime groove here. Have the deck usable and loving the view of the lake. My deck furniture is a little big for the space, but it works. Our building’s bridge club has suspended for the summer. One more writing class before a two-month break. Church services at 9:30 instead of 11:00.
Already having fires in the mountains. That is a part of Colorado that I don’t like so much. It’s looks so green, but here in the city we are on water restrictions. Since we don’t have to water the lawn (or mow it!!!) it doesn’t affect us personally. Have had some moisture this spring, but apparently not enough to relieve the drought.
I am happy to be back on OD!
And I’m happy to have you back on OD đŸ™‚ I think that’s a good decision about only having one car… less to spend on insurance and license plates. Is your new car one of those that parallel parks itself? I would NOT like having church go from 11:00 to 9:30… but, that’s cause I hate getting up early đŸ˜‰
