taking some time

I don’t often write about my life. Today I will break that rule and write about dinner of all things.

It could have been a so so nothing but of a can of whatever meal but the difference between so so nothing and something to remember for a while is a little time. The wine aged on the shelf for years, it was not oevrly expensive so the two glasses cost us around $3 each (plus the time). The steak was marked down to half since it was the last day of sale.  A yellow bell, half an onion several mushrooms sliced, some spices olive oil and a dash of dry white wine to finish and a few minutes to cook. I put the two ears of sweet corn on the grill along with the meat. If we had eaten out the meal would have been more than $50 plus tip, as it was the whole thing including wine ( there are a couple of glasses left for later) was under twenty. The money has been tight but life does not have to stop or become boring. Save here and there and splurge a little when the time is right. Yesterday we made 14 meals for just over a buck a piece, and everyone who came left happy and full.

All good things take time and effort…. and pay back great dividends.

How does one get an invite for such an extravaganza? The wine must have been fantastic.
