some days

only days ago

the building rang with joy

and laughter filled the ear

the song was loud and sung by all full voice

full voice and then some

enough to fill a sometimes wounded world

and now and then to mend

the words we heard were words of hope

redemption

grace

where did this sound so dear go?

where are the words now you ask?

they are still there

 even if in memory now

even if the speaker does not speak

 the echo still sounds somewhere

far and away it will ring again

in the minds of those of us

who heard the precious words and song

 the joyful noise and laughter

carry it each of you in your hearts

and plant the seeds everywhere you go

that in the spring when winters end has come

 again again again

some building rings with joy

and laughter fills the ear

 carry the seed

plant it

and let it grow

Your words here have left a seed, planted deep in my heart. I will carry it, until it springs forth again. I hear the music, I hear it well. Thank you for carrying it to me, so I can carry it to another. The healing, the hope, will continue. Take care, my friend.

lovely.

A good reminder that there are always echoes of joy, of laughter, if we only make the effort to remember. RYN: Thank you for your note; it’s good to meet you. I cannot imagine water in lakes that had been dry for a thousand years! How wonderful! I fear our water reserves will begin to drop again soon, too, but it is so good to have this respite from dryness, even if it proves to be only temporary.
