Frat Boys, Funneling, and Stupid Profs

This weekend was pretty good. Corinne, Toni, and Katie came up to visit. I didn’t see Toni all weekend but I spent Friday night with Corinne. We had gone to an open bar for $5, and to the Beta party afterwards. The party sucked since they were supposed to have jello shots but ended up running out. Corinne and I danced on a bar, and I funneled a beer for my first time…yes, yes I know, funneling beer should be a rite of passage for Greek life, but hey….I’m a slow learner. I spent the night hanging out with my pledge class and random Beta boys. Henry was being a dick by macking it to some girl who was quite literally stripping on top of the bar. Mo has a girlfriend apparently. I think I need a break from that frat for awhile…

We all walked back dt together but soon lost each other so I stuck by Corinne. Corinne ended up hooking up with her old formal date, Jay, while I got hit on by some TKE alum who actually used to date one of the older sisters who has since graduated. I really wasn’t into him, and pretended to talk on my phone, but he called me on my trick, and I felt bad, so spent about twenty minutes talking to him about random stuff.

I left him, found Corinne, and then was ditched by Corinne because she was busy hooking up with another guy that she once used to have a thing with. I ended up getting really fed up by 4:30 am and took a cab back by myself. Some random frosh was in the car with me, and she kept mumbling that she would be sick, so me and the cabbie were yelling at her to get the fuck out…that’s all I needed to end my night…some frosh to throw up on me and my new pants.

The next night Corinne went to Erin’s house to crash and Tanya came to visit. She came at the end of Greek God, which was lame after two hours…I mean, yeah, the prospective Greek Gods were good-looking but even looking at good-looking guys gets boring after two hours…Tanya and I went on a liquor run afterwards and pregamed at my apartment. We took a cab to the Alpha Sig house since they were having a party. I kind of wanted to see Jeremy…I did but he barely said hello to me, even after I tried talking to him. I think I’m taking a break from guys for this semester. They confuse the hell out of me. We did see Almon, however, and ended up celebrating his 21st birthday with him. That was actually a lot of fun…we drank this punch at his house made with Devils Spring, had one of his friends drive us dt, and partied at dt for the rest of the night until Tanya and I cabbed it back to my apartment. All in all the weekend was good.

As for school itself…Classes are so ridiculously hard. My microbiology class, which I heard was supposed to be really interesting is so hard…I got a 59 on the first test. The damn prof changed the format of the class after the drop deadline too. He decided that he will in fact not drop the lowest grade. Also, the final will not be based off old test questions like he originally promised. So since I already fulfilled this particular biology requirement, I think I’m gonna just take the class pass/fail. My intro to women’s studies class (a 100 level class!!) is one of the hardest of all. The grad student refuses to give back our papers, so we can’t even see what we’re doing wrong and how to improve ourselves for the next paper. And I quote "Sometimes your papers will have comments on them, and sometimes they won’t. If I’m in a bad mood I will shit all over your paper and you’ll have to suck it up and deal with it. If you have any questions about your grade you can ask me about them when I feel like giving them back." I feel like I keep getting shafted with professors. This was supposed to be a somewhat easy class and now on top of everything, I have to worry about it hurting my GPA. Ask me again why I’ve decided to stay an extra year…?

Until my next ramble
