Pâques en France

Went to France for ten days with my parents and sister. Was pretty good, two days car journey from Calise to a villiage a bit above Toulouse, stayed with some of my mums friends there for five days, and then a three day journey back up to Calise. Spent a lot of time in the car, obviously, but was a nice ride. The old houses are beautiful, and my mum’s been mentioning that a move to France may be in the pipeline in a couple of years time. For the first time ever, I’m not against leaving the country. I guess with everything that’s been going on here recently, it was just so nice to get away… running away again though? No, I need to sort things out here first, and if we were to move, it wouldn’t be until after I’d finished college, and as I’m going to the same college as them… well, I can’t run forever.

I guess I should mention that the holiday had it’s stressful moments. Nothing too major, just my mum being her usual self, with a constant frown on her face, looking as though she could snap at any moment. Which she did, a couple of times. She seems happier again now we’re home and not in that "we can spend lots of money because we’re on holiday" mentality. I understand that we have to be careful with home much we spend at the moment, but also it’s important that she can enjoy herself sometimes. That we can enjoy ourselves sometimes.

Anyway, like I said, she’s happier again now. And it was lovely to get away for a bit.

*random noter* I love journeys with beautiful scenery where you can listen to music and drift away
