Busy Bee
First things first, my second college interview. Went a lot better then the first one. Last time was with head of deparment, John, and he was not most enthusiastic with the prospect of me joining. Home ed’s mean a bit of extra paperwork or something, I guess. This time was with Emma, who teaches Art and Textiles, which is the main course I want to do. As she said, my drawing is not excellent but apparently I show a good eye for colour and putting things together, which is good, and we talked about my long term plans of opening a shop selling vintage clothes and jewellery as well as clothes I have made myself. Also had a look round the photography department, as would like to do photography as well, if am not forced into doing an English Language GCSE short course.
All in all, is good news! I’m on the course! And have been already been accepted into Philiosophy and Drama! Yay! John has said that he won’t overrule what the individual teachers decide, though he sounded like he would like to. Guess I’ll be seeing a lot more of him over the next two years, but there’s always going to be people like him in the world, I haven’t been dissallusioned as to what some people are like during my time outside of mainstream education.
Secondly, On wednesday I went to see Death Cab For Cutie at the Astoria in London! They hardly ever do gigs in England, and it had sold out before I even knew they were playing, but dad bought tickets off of Ebay. Was fantastic, though have been a bit ill recently and it certainly didn’t help. More on that later. Anyway, warm up band were great too, though nothing on Death Cab themselves. Suprised they didn’t play Transatlanticism, as is (I think) one of their best. I got free bookmarks and badges! And I bought a green top which is very snazzy. Should’ve taken a camera, but I forgot. Took loads of pictures on my phone, though they didn’t come out too well. Should upload them to my computer at some point.
So yes, illness. My darling little sister has been bringing bugs home from school with her like they’re the next big craze, and it seems that as soon as I’ve recovered from one, I coming down with the next. Most recently acquisition has been the winter vomiting bug. Yay. Sort of better now, just been left with a nuts headache, backache and feeling really weak. Ech, will survive, I guess. Is an excuse to sleep a lot, if nothing else, as have been rushed off my feet with making portfolio for above interview. Of course, illness didn’t really hit in until I had time to relax and let to take over, which is basically two days after interview (DCFC was day after interview). Everything is an effort at the moment, even reading brainless magazines, so have spent my days on the sofa watching TV (if I can manage the trek downstairs) or else curled up in bed eating fruit. Would be like a lovely holiday if my joints weren’t screaming or hands trembling.
