Sick days
Seems I forgot about this place for a few days. The flowers above are some weird little greenery type things that I found at the grocery store yesterday, they were so pretty I couldn’t resist them. I have no idea what they are, but I love them!
I’ve been home sick all week. Pretty bloody miserable. Yesterday I finally went to the doctor because I realized after 9 days that it was apparently not just a cold anymore. So I got some antibiotics, started them yesterday, so now today I’m finally starting to feel a little bit more human again. I went to work on Monday, went home sick an hour before the end of the day and haven’t been back since. It’s frustrating because I did have a lot of things to do this week. Fortunately none of it is deadline stuff. The sickness did wait until my deadlines were past to hit me luckily. Doctor said I can go back to work Monday, but I only have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and half of Thursday next week since I booked Thursday afternoon, and all of Friday off. I am grateful to now be in a job where its ok to be sick, they realize its human, and its not the end of the world, and nothing is so serious that it cannot wait until one is better.
I’m sitting here, supposed to be writing on my book story, but I ended up here instead. I suppose I am writing here, so thats better than not writing at all. But I should still go write for a little while. Before my nephew wakes up from his nap and makes me go build lego again.
Here is a photo of my little ceramic christmas tree. My sister and I went and painted these at the pottery place a month or two ago, and my dad fixed the light fixture inside of it for me yesterday (the one they gave me didn’t fit, so he had to modify it a bit, its still safe), so I can finally light it up! My mum has had one of these for my whole life, and I always loved it, so I’m thrilled to have my own now. Its beside my bed, so I can look at it as I fall asleep.
Cheers,
Bri
