 1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
Proposed to someone 🙂
 
 2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
  I only did monthly ones last year.  I did pretty well for a while, but after that, not really.
 
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not really ‘close’, but a couple of carolyn’s friends and family did.  Held a baby that was like 36 hours hold.

 
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope
 
5. What countries/cities did you visit?
  Hmm, not as much traveling this past year.  St Louis, Chicago a few times, various small towns for family stuff, but other than that, pretty local.
 
 6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
  Fiscal responsibility
 
 7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
  January 15th.  Day I proposed.  Don’t think I ever posted the full story on how I actually proposed, just did a ‘hey, she said yes’ post.  maybe i’ll do that sometime soon
 
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
  Hmm.  I have literally no idea…
 
9. What was your biggest failure?
Money management, totally failed at getting all my CC debt paid off before the wedding.
 
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
  I had some back issues, slipped disc, that kind of thing, but other than that, nothing major.  Especially compared to 2011, when I had bone infection, picc line, the whole 9 yards.
 
11. What was the best thing you bought?
  Hmmm, technically i bought the ring in 2011, so I can’t really count that.  Probably our big comfy couch.  So much better for snuggling and party hosting.
 
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
  There were a lot.  One of my friends, Tom, really stepped up into a prominent role after nic and jo left.  Even from afar, nic and jo were both still awesome.
 
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Lee.  No doubt. 
 
14. Where did most of your money go?
Saving for wedding, or piddling away on little shit.
 
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
  negative one year, June 29, 2012, which was exactly one year before we’re getting married.
 
 16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
  Probably "Somebody that i used to know"  
 
17. Compared to this time last year, are you… 
 
i. happier or sadder? 
  Probably about the same.  
 
ii. thinner or fatter?
  About 10 pounds lighter, i think
 
iii. richer or poorer?
 Technically, richer, but that’s about to go all away with the wedding stuff.
 
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
  Saving money.
 
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
  Spending money
 
20. How did you spend Christmas?
  Spent christmas eating pizza rolls and watching breaking bad.
 
21. How did you spend New Years?
  At home, drunk on champagne, playing "just Dance 4" in our underwear.
 
 22. Did you fall in love in 2012?
  Nope, that happened before.
 
23. How many one night stands?
 None, obviously.
 
24. What was your favourite TV program?
  Probably Dexter.
 
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Yep

  I don’t think I read any books this year…
 
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
  Lana Del Rey
 
28. What did you want and get?
 A beer brewing equipment kit.  Been putting that thing to REALLY good use.
 
29. What did you want and not get?
  out of debt
 
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Hmm, can’t really think of any ‘favorites’, but a lot of good ones.
 
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
  I turned 27.  There was a football game, some partying downtown, some tailgating, all the usual.
 
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
  Winning that huge powerball (sensing a trend, here?)
 
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
  Pretty much the same.  Tshirts when i’m not at work, khakis and polos when I am.
 
34. What kept you sane?
  Carolyn.
 
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
  Hmmmmm.  Nothing’s coming to mind.
 
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
  The election, obviously, and the incredible number of people who go into the voting booth without an informed opinion.  Do your research, make up your own mind.
 
37. Who did you miss?
Far away friends.

  Brian and Jenny

  Always have wine and chocolate on hand.

  Yep

  The night out after i proposed, new years eve, christmas with her family.

  Any number of panic attacks over night shifts.

  January, probably.  Or sometime over the summer

  Shockingly enough, it was lana del rey, born to die.

  I saw Girl Talk.

  Yeah

  Not really.

  Hmm,  probably when i was trying to convince carolyn i didn’t have the money to get the ring.

  Yeah, sent some judgy vibes out toward some people, unintentionally.

  General dickholery that comes along.

  Too much.

  Proposing.

Hmm,  the infinite number of times i wasted money i didn’t need to.
