It’s the littlest of things…

…that make the biggest difference.
Dispite being chronically late to work, Matt, the breakfast and meeting co-ordinator for the hotel is an all around nice guy.
He’s been supplying me with some fantastic anime to watch, fills my head with D&D/Roleplaying ideas, as well as great talks about video games. What nerds we are!
Well anyways, the story I am about to share occured last week.  Allow me to set the stage.
It was about 2:30 in the afternoon and it was an absolutely georgous day outside and I was sitting at the desk trying to count out my deposit for the day as well as balance the Front Desk till. I was sort of in my own world trying to make sure I was counting all loose change correctly between answering the phone and assisting anyone who came to the Front Desk. Now I’ve sort of learned to keep one eye on what I’m doing, the other on the happenings in the lobby allowing me to be aware of what’s going on around me.
Well I recall Matt talking in the lobby with our maintenance man, Alec and 2 young kids entering the lobby. I was sort of half listening to the kids banter at each other, calling one aother idoits (mean while I was agreeing with both of them in my head) and they  entered one of the elevators That’s when it happened. (dum dum dummmm). The elevator door closed and lopped off the arm of one of the kids.
Haha just kidding, but what happened next, was I seen that Alec and Matt were watching where the kids were going. I wasn’t so quick on the uptake to let them know if they were guests or our perminant residents kids. I really didn’t notice.  Well anyways, they watched the elevator floor indication lights until it reached the 12th floor, and as soon as it stopped there, Matt was on the next elevator up.
A few moments later he comes back down and one of the 2 boys that went upstairs was with him. The kid looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Matt brought him to the desk and said " I do believe you have something to say to the lady". *mumbles* "I don’t believe she heard you" "Sorry" "That’s better".
Needless to say I was a little confused as to why the kid was apologizing to me. I didn’t see him do anything wrong. Perhaps be a bit boisterous in the lobby but not enough to warrent Matt to march upstairs and fetch the lad and make him apoligize.
Well the boy bolted after he apoligized and I asked Matt "What the hell was that about?" " You mean you didn’t hear them as the elevator closed?" "Nope" "He said, I fucking hate fat bitches"  I laughed. "What?!" Haha that’s too funny.  But you know. I’m glad Matt did that, he was more worked up over that then I was.
But I’m glad he did that. I’ve had weight problems my whole life, and I don’t require anyone to point that out to me, or at least in such a rude manner.

Blessed Be

I don’t know which I dislike more… the abnoxious people my age or the little brats that are growing up now… some of them are little sweet hearts but too many of them are not.

RYN: Thank you so much! I’d really appreciate that. I’ll try to look it up by the artist name. If you have any other angelic pictures let me know. By the way have you ever heard of Sharon Shinn? She wrote an amazing series called the Archangel Trilogy (even though there are more than 3 books now)
