I nearly lost my cool at work yesterday. I was so close to the edge that I had tears stinging the back of my eyes to escape.
Unless you are in the hotel industry or similar business, this may not make a whole lot of sense.
I felt like I was being tugged everywhich way by managemet, well one manager in particular.
People were stressin about things they shouldn’t have been, and therefore I get stressed. It was not good.
I asked the Guest Service Manager if I could go and chill out for 5 minutes.
It was great to just walk away from the desk and not listen to the phone or the issues or deal with people.
I feel like I do lots of work, but never have anything to show for it. It’s frustrating.
But I suppose that is enough about work.
Yesterday Colin and I walked to subway for dinner before he went to work.  I complained the whole way there about walking. My head hurt, my hips and legs hurt, but you know what, for all the complaining I did, I sure felt like I was accomplishing something. I even walked home. I was sweaty and gross after, but I was proud of myself.  I’m going walk a trail this summer that runs around a lake in the middle of the city. It’s a great trail with hiking and flat surfaces for biking/walking ect. It has stops along the way like the museum, visitors centre, city hall and all kinds of good places. I’m hoping to start walking it in the next couple of weeks I want to make sure most of the snow has melted and any whooping big puddles have mostly dried. It’s such an awesome trail. I’ve walked/hiked it a few times. I’ll have to find out the stats as to what the distance is, but yeah this is a great time of year to do it. NO BUGS!  Ugh. summer time is spent drenched in bug spray just to keep them away.

Blessed Be

I have to start moving more too. Walks are definately in order, and my belly dancing DVD if I can work up the willpower. Hurray for warmer weather!

Random Noter- I work in a hotel and I know exactly how you feel. I have cried at work before. Its so stressful and you are right, if you’ve never worked in a hotel you would never understand. Just keep your head up!

I think you’d feel really energized going for walks in the summer! It actually makes me feel really good to get outside.. even though I’ve never thought of myself as “outdoorsy”. LoL ~SB~

*hugs* I stayed in a hotel this weekend and can imagine how many complaints and things you must get from customers.
