KRZR’s 15th Anniversary concert
Yesterday was an incredible day! I’ll start with the morning, 6:35, which is when I woke up. I had to throw all my essentials for getting ready into my little blue suitcase, and headed over to get my brother (I told him that I would take him to school in the morning). After getting him, and narrowly avoiding an accident with a F-150, we took off down Clovis Avenue to Rae-Rae’s. Once getting her, we took off down Shaw and headed over to the Clovis East campus. Wow, that was an experience. I actually hung out with Rae-Rae and Jimmy’s friends for a bit, before the bell rang and she was able to go to her classes to drop off some work. After that, we escaped High School Hell and went back to her house.
Once there, I took a shower, and after that we headed over to Federicos. Well, it was going to cost 60 bucks for what we wanted, so we said “Hell No” and went over to Target and bought some dye. We also bought these cool spikey balls. On the way back, we went by The Warehouse, and I got 2 new used Cd’s – South Park “Chef Aid” since I somehow misplaced my old one. GRR, I hate when that happens, and I also bought the “Pulp Fiction Soundtrack.” That is one of the best soundtracks ever. We then went back to Rae-Rae’s and dyed her hair, put on our sexy make-up, and headed out to go to the concert.
First, I had to go get my brother from school, since he called and asked. 🙂 We also took his friend home, that was fun. But before that… we had some time to kill. So Rae-Rae and I went to Taco Smell and got some food, and ate it in the car. Then we cruised down Blackstone out to Riverpark, and drove circles in the upper parking lot. That was fun. Then headed back down Blackstone, hit Shaw, and went to get Jimmy. After dropping him off, we headed down Kings Canyon, Ventura, O Street, and arrived at the Selland Arena. Already, there were about 1000, give or take, people waiting in line. Well, 3 seperate group lines. We went over to the KRZR “tent” and hung out there, got our tickets. At some point, we headed on a mission to find a bathroom, and finally went in the 76 stations 🙂 We watched Janai do some of her interviews, and got to see Breaking Benjamin, Skindred and Chevelle closer. That was pretty awesomeness. Then came zero hour, enter the arena.
We got our shirts, and omg, we even got wristbands (which actually should go in the last paragraph, but whatever) to get on the floor! Fuck yes!!! We weren’t really sure we wanted to be on the floor, but once we got the wristbands we were stocked. We tied our sweaters around waist, and makeshift tied my brothers shirt around my waist as well, and went into the pit. The local band that played was alright. Their music was awesome, but their lead singer wasn’t that great. Then Skindred came on. They weren’t that bad, and when they played “Nobody”, it fit perfectly. It really feels like nobody gets out of the pit alive. We were being pushed, shoved, squished – it was awesome. Then came Breaking Benjamin. They were decent, but not that great. Then Chevelle. Wow.. they were amazing live. They sounded like they do on album. I wouldn’t mind seeing them again, in a non-pit way. Freakin Awesome. Rae-Rae and I decided that during them was a good time to go get some water, so we did. We left the pit, and the not terrible position we were in in the pit (about 3 rows from the front). When we were back, we decided to go back in. We were on the side at first, and I talked to Chaz, but he wasn’t able to get us in the cage on stage, so we headed back into the pit. DAMN!!! That’s all I have to say. We were pretty close, and they did a bunch of good songs! During ADIDAS, the crowd was freakin crazy, and that’s when we got really squished, and honestly, that’s one of the only songs I remember them doing. In the pit, a little after ADIDAS, a lot of circle pits and slam dancing started happening, lots of crowd surfing. At some point, a guy smacked me right across the face, abused-woman style. Needless to say, it stung. A lot. And we left the pit, because it was squished, hot, and disgusting. And we semi-enjoyed the rest of the show from the back wall on the floor.
Getting out of the parking lot was a bitch. Stupid truck cut me off, damn bastard. I was so tired, and took Rae-Rae home after a ditched-effort to go to Dennys. Then talked to Drew on my way home so I wouldn’t fall asleep, came in, and than went to bed.
And that was yesterday. Today is recoup day, as I’m pretty sore all over, but it was worth it. Yesterday was amazing!
