I see the web I’ve spun
And one beside it – much like my own
But this web is not my own
It is missing detail and structure
It is missing fidelity and honor
It is missing truth and respect
Beside my web lies a shallow reflection of a mirror image
At my web’s worst, it is still not this unkempt
For my web has been spun for years
On fundamentals and knowledge
My web was built of conviction
Of life lesson and struggle
So you see…
The web beside mine,
This poor, shallow imitation of mine
Could never be my web.
Because it was not spun by me.
Just a shallow reflection of myself
Struggling to be real.
But the rains will come again.
At that time, will your web endure?
