21 weeks- my birthday, camping, and pictures

TWENTY.ONE.WEEKS.

I’m a little bit terrified by the speed this pregnancy has picked up lately. It’s like every week is gone instantly and then another whole month has gone by and I can’t keep up. I really have to get on some things, especially finding another groomer! I did hire one person two days a week but he is VERY inexperienced and can only do about two dogs a day…I don’t mind giving him a couple of dogs so he can continue to learn and get faster, but I have to find a very skilled, very experienced, very confident groomer to take over the bulk of my grooming.

We had baby girl’s anatomy scan yesterday (last ultrasound! She’s going to look entirely different next time we see her- as a real live baby in our arms!). She’s still right on track, her head and heart were measuring at about 20.5 weeks and her thigh bone was right at 21 weeks. At every other ultrasound she’s measured about 3-5 days ahead, but either way, she’s right about where she should be. 🙂 Oh, and she’s still a girl! I was getting all worried walking into it, like, "What if that other lady totally didn’t know what she was doing and just missed the penis?!".

But no, she was right. I knew she was, I believed her from the second she said it. She was very confident. But still, that would be a head spinner.

Baby Girl is getting so wiggly! I’ve finally felt her from the outside now and Jonathan felt her for the first time on my birthday and has been feeling her consistently ever since. My coworkers all want to feel, but she’s so low they would pretty much have to stick their hands down my pants, and…um, no. They can wait a few weeks. 

She does this thing sometimes where she somehow lays right against my bladder and even if I don’t have to pee, I will feel like I’m about to pee my pants. It’s so weird every time it happens! I’ve found if I kind of rub and wiggle my tummy right there she’ll move over a bit. 

I slept terribly last night (I don’t know what was going on, but I got about 4 hours total of sleep), and this morning I got to work such a zombie, I made sure everything was going okay and went to nap in my car. I had about 45 minutes until I had to go back in, plenty of time to catch a few Z’s…and I couldn’t because Baby Girl turned into such a wiggle worm as soon as I laid down! She’s never kept me awake before, but she was flip flopping and kicking all over the place. She stopped as soon as I went back in to work and I didn’t feel her again for hours, of course. Little stinker.

My friend and one of my groomers, Aimee, moved back home to Massachusetts (geeze that’s a hard state to spell and pronounce) last Friday. It was very sad, I cried, and it still hasn’t really hit me. She was one of the very, very few friends I actually hang out and do things with.

I had a great birthday- free dinner at Ihop the night before, dinner at The Melting Pot (a great local fondue place that I’ve wanted to try for years) on my actual birthday, Jonathan bought me a camera that takes HD video (I’ve been mentioning wanting one before the baby arrives), camping for two nights, and a great celebration when I returned back to work the following Wednesday. I love my coworkers so much 🙂

Took one last picture of baby in the woods before we head out. This was 20 weeks exactly. 

I’m still wearing regular jeans most of the time…I seem to just be growing up and out so far. The few that don’t button, the rubber band trick is still working for. I think I’m definitely going to outgrow most of my shirts before my pants. I need to take my 21 week picture.
