I have a job, Jonathan has a job, things are definitely looking up.
Still tough, of course, we have a few bills backlogged but they, along with the rent, should be all paid up in a few days. The biggest problem is that we only have one car and it’s been getting terrible gas mileage lately. Every morning, I drive Jonathan 30 miles to work, head about 40 miles in the other direction to work myself, then after work, I drive to pick him up and we drive home. Well over 100 miles each day and boy is it expensive.
Hopefully we’ll be able to afford a small, inexpensive car very soon. I think it’s a definite possibility.
Anyway, my job is awesome. I’m working in a private grooming shop and it’s the most relaxed, awesome environment ever. It just feels like a few friends sitting around talking, but we happen to be grooming a dog while we all chat. I have a bather and a drier there so I just have to groom. Washing/drying takes the most time so I’m so glad to not have to do that. My skills are improving SO much because I can take as much time as I need on each dog. I don’t have to put dogs away knowing that they look like shit but not being able to do anything about it because their owners are coming any minute and I have 3 other dogs to finish in the next two hours. It’s SO NICE.
Jonathan is really liking his job, too. He found one but got a weird/bad feeling about it just before signing the contract with them so he started looking around again, and found a great company that’s actually willing to pay him what he’s worth, which is over 2.5 times what the first company was going to pay him.
🙂 I’ll write more later, I’m being very lazy on this beautiful Saturday.
glad things are going good for you guys!!★

I love this entry! You guys deserve the good life. But I definitely feel you on the gas mileage — I was commuting almost two hours a day five days a week when I lived in Phoenix (gotta love city traffic) in an SUV. It was so hard on my gas mileage, not in terms of distance, just idling in traffic.

Ryn, as I told someone else, I want her to follow Gods will for her life. I don’t want her chasing after happiness because it is fleeting nor do I want any of my children chasing after riches and stuff. I want them to be content and have joy. I believe joy is found in doing the Lords will. All my children will have to provide for college on their own should they choose to go. We neither encourage or discourage college (even for the boys.. we do feel they need to learn a trade whether they go to college or not.. like carpentry, lawncare/landscaping, plumbing, fixing cars or appliances… etc).
