R.I.P Rick Wright
my beloved pink floydian… passed away yesterday at the age of 65 after a short battle with cancer. though his life has ended hopefully his name will live on through his amazing work as one of the band members of pink floyd.
in other awful news:
Columbia, MO (my home) was hit this past weekend with 6inches of rain from hurricane Ike. this caused much flooding north of town. a man was stuck in his truck in the rising water (approximately 5ft at the time)a little North East of downtown. a woman, Michelle Runkle, age 21 (same as me) did as anyone would have done had they been around and did her best to help the man in his truck. unfortunately the current took her under and her body was discovered later that day (yesterday). the man in the truck made it to safety in time. i dont know why this bothered me so much. maybe it was the fact she was my age. maybe it was the fact that she tried so hard to help another life, placing her own in danger. i didnt know her, i cant even put a face to her name, i can only hope that her efforts dont go unnoticed (hence the post).
Shine on…
