Boooooo

Well, I didn’t win that contest. (See my entry submission in the previous post). I’m quite bummed. Trying not to get depressed about it. I thought it was a REALLY good entry. Really good writing…. *sigh*

I guess she must have wanted something different out of a wedding…

That or I don’t quite blog right. Maybe it was too polished. Maybe it’s supposed to be more like a diary… ? I dunno.

My plan however is to wait maybe until the middle of next week to see if she contacts me at all. She said she would be busy this weekend so I think that timeframe is fair. Then, depending what is said – well, probably regardless of what is said, I just want to hear what she has to say before I do anything – I will contact another planner who has been friendly with me on Facebook.

This other planner has even said already she could help me plan the South Africa part for free (but not come with us as that would be too expensive) if I let her use some of the photos from our wedding in her portfolio. At first I was not so thrilled with that idea because she wouldn’t have been there on the day of and she really wouldn’t have done anything I couldn’t have done on my own and I felt like it was just a round about way of getting crazy good photos and "experience" in another area to advertise for her business. Now, though, I think I will suggest that maybe she could help me plan one or both of my receptions and I will give her some photos for her portfolio as well as an OUTSTANDING review AND I will blog for her what I would have blogged for the other one. She has some contacts in South Africa so maybe she is the better choice anyway…
