The Story Of Pluto – Could be triggering

We had two dogs. Luna a purebred grey and white husky and Pluto a purebred red and white husky. We have been having neighbor problems for years; one of them grabbed Jeff and tried to hold him while the other neighbor punched him all because Jeff asked them to turn down their music at 2 AM. So thats where this issue started.

Pluto preferred to be outside. We would bring him in and he would cry at the door until we let him out again. One morning he was playing out in the yard, Luna was inside with the litter of puppies; and we got a knock on the door. It was a police officer who had pluto in his arms. Lifeless. Security cameras show my neighbor lead pluto out of my yard, you cannot see on his side of the fence but you can see the neighbor there and you can see Pluto’s collar hook on the fence. You can then hear him calling 9-1-1 (we have mics with our cameras because of this dude) and he is telling 9-1-1 my dog jumped the fence and is lifeless.

He stays on the line with 9-1-1 until the police show up and the cop asks “why didnt you take him down like you were instructed”. The neighbor says he didnt want to get bitten. From a lifeless dog. The police officer transported Pluto and my husband to a vet with lights and sirens on as if he were a person. It was amazing of him, he treated Pluto like a person. When they arrived the vet told us Pluto was brain dead. He had seizures for three hours while they did the tests. We put pluto down that day as the tests showed no life and the seizing just got worse. My neighbor was charged with Animal abuse resulting in death and animal cruelty. There is a restraining order in place. My poor puppy. We are still so heart broken. We kept the only girl puppy of the litter and named her Hydra. Hydra is one of Pluto’s moons.

I will never understand the overwhelming cruelty of people. He told our other neighbor (who we are friends with) that he was sick of Pluto chasing the stray cats out of our yard. He said it wasnt fair that the 30 cats he feeds outside and lets breed didnt have room to live anymore and he was mad at Pluto for that. Im not sorry. Pluto was in his yard doing his thing. If he needed room for his cats he should move with them to a place with a damn yard.
