Sunday

Saturday night was a bit of a write off.  M and I were both tired and went to lie down for a few minutes.  We put fresh sheets on the bed, cracked out the winter blanket and … feel right asleep.  It was only 8pm!  I got up around 12:30am, he was up and in the living room.  I stumbled around, turned off my laptop, got a drink and fell back into bed.

Woke up around 8:30am when M’s alarm went off.  Showered and dressed, took Ernie out for his walk while M showered and dressed.   The assholes next door went out around 9am, which is completely unheard of – normally they don’t even wake until well after noon and then it’s right into the bickering and door slamming.

Ernie is being a real dick lately.  We took him to mother’s house yesterday and he gets to roam the back yard there, off his leash, which is very rare for him.  But he kept trying to get into the shrubby, overgrown part in the back corner, kept trying to piss on things, trying to get behind the shed in the other corner, and generally not responding to commands and even growled at me when I nosed him with my shoe to guide him away from the shed.  This morning on his walk he was straining against me, ignoring commands again, and being a real pain in the ass.  I know he is frustrated that he only gets his walks on a lead these days, and because his walks are when he has to do his business, he does get leeway as far is dictating the direction we take so that he can pick a suitable place to shit.  So I don’t blame him when he strains against me on the leash, because that is what he has basically been allowed to do for the past 20 months.  What bothers me is him not obeying commands, which he is normally very good with.  I guess the excitement of being at mother’s house was distracting him, but I can see that we’re going to have to re-train him once we get there so that he stops acting like a ratbag.

So we went to the farmer’s market, and the guy from the German restaurant gave us a free container of pork meatballs (to go with the sausages and sauerkraut we bought).  We’re really going to miss his food!  We also got some more dried pig skin for Ernie and I picked up gifts for my niece and nephew’s birthdays.  I got some great old-fashioned toys from a lady who runs a stall there – she is just the greatest.  Hot pink hair, crazy clothing and there are so many little stories she comes up with for the toys.  I bought some dolls for my niece, and the old lady was telling me how I should let my niece know that those dolls tend to be a bit noisy at night, so she might have to ask them to be quiet when she is trying to sleep.

Ran past Woolworths and picked a few more groceries up.

I finally sold those pesky lamps for $40 – to a woman who runs a second hand furniture store.  She bought them for her house, but was asking if we have any other furniture to get rid of.  We don’t really, anything we have left is really just for dumping, and not worth selling.

All in all, it was a pretty successful day.

The bogan neighbours are currently indignant that our landlord rented out the single garage to a new tenant and now the bogans will have to find somewhere else to store their smashed up, undriveable car.  Keep in mind that they have three cars, did have four for a few weeks there, and are taking up ALL of the on street parking for our part of the apartment block.  I mean, the nerve of our landlord, renting out the space to the new tenant without letting the bogans know. I mean, they’ve been using that space for free for over 4 months now. Sheesh.

It’s all I can do not to roll my eyes right out of my head when I hear this shit.

Oh, I am feeling so overwhelmed with this apartment.  I have packed two boxes of my personal items, and have started a third.  The third will be my last, so it’s hard finding things to put in it that I can happily kiss goodbye until at least September.  The main issue with the rest of the stuff is SPACE.  We have none.  So when it comes to sorting and packing, we are stacking and restacking and creating even bigger messes before we see any progress.  It’s very difficult.  I have a feeling that next week it will all become very clear what we need to do, because we will have been able to move smaller items out of here and over to mother’s house.  It is also time to start sending the boxes overseas, whether we can afford it or not.  It’s expensive, which has been why we are putting it off, and putting it off, and putting it off…. But we can’t do that any more.  My stuff is going to go by sea, because it’s cheaper and we can afford the delay.  M’s stuff will go mostly by air, because he’ll be going from winter to summer and will need his clothing and stuff.

Ugh.  So much expenditure, and so little cash.  Worst part is that we are JUST ABOUT to have more money, when we stop paying rent, when we get our rental bond back, when we get my tax return… I suppose that should make it easier to fork over the money now, knowing that we will only have to be broke for a short while.

Time to keep battling the packing.  The biggest battle is the “creative differences” between M and I as far as the packing….

International freight sucks. I remember it costing as much as the stock I was buying when I had the shop. Just crazy. What is it with bogans and accumulating useless cars!! Drives me nuts.

Hehehe… Good intestines? Sensational! Does remind me of something that I wrote about five years ago, actually. Though it spoke of entrails, and about me spilling my guts. Funny how associations work, hmmm? 😉 I actually saw that you had posted, about two and a half hours ago, but I had some work to do. Then, as soon as I was done with it, you saw intestines. What a funny place, the universe.

So I just saw that you had commented on my diary about the MSN post from forever ago! Wow you have an amazing memory!! I actually don’t remember it at all, I am so bad at remembering things I’ve said. Thanks for the comment!! I always read but rarely comment 😛 I am thankful for others who post because I am selfish and read their lives but never comment on my own life!

I probably need to start packing…ya know, something. I need some boxes. I’m told I can get some from outside Bunnings. Of course I’ll have to have my cat in his box next to me while I pack anything, so he doesn’t get up to naughty ****. 😉
