I’m just taking a few moments away from organizing and packing to read a few faves entries and leaves some notes. Tomorrow morning I’m flying to Edmonton, Alberta for five days for the Canadian Co-Op Housing Federation Annual General Meeting and Conference. They’ve been having some awful weather in Alberta for the past couple of weeks…flooding, heavy rains, and even some 10 centimeters of snow! Here in T.O. it’s been in the high 80’s with humidity in the 90’s for two weeks now. Makes it really hard to know what to pack for my trip.
Saturday I went to the hairdresser and got my hair cut. Then went and had a manicure and pedicure at another place closer to home. Their air conditioning wasn’t working and although I love getting a pedicure, soaking my feet in hot water had the sweat pouring off me. I felt bad for the staff having to work in those conditions.
Today I went for an hour long massage at a new place that opened up down on Lakeshore Blvd. It felt so good! I liked the therapist and have made an appointment to see her when I come back. She’s going to do some deep tissue work on my left shoulder to help with the torn rotator cuff. I’ve also been going to the chiroprator who’s doing ultrasound therapy on the shoulder. I’ve noticed some improvement, but have still had days where it aches pretty bad.
Did mega shopping yesterday and some this afternoon. Got some nice long summer sun dresses and a few new tops. Had no luck finding slacks/pants of any kind. But I guess I can do some shopping in the West Edmonton Mall. It’s the largest mall in Canada (or it used to be). 😀
The rain finally came this afternoon that they’ve been promising for days now. The grass was starting to turn brown and burn from the heat and lack of rain. It helped drop the temps a bit, but the air stayed muggy.
Oh well, I better go and finish getting stuff ready to go and then try get some sleep. I’ve got so much stuff going round and round in my head that I hope I can sleep. I always get this way before a trip. It’s not so much the flying, although that does make my a little nervous. I guess it’s just trying to think of all the stuff I have to bring and being afraid to forget things.
Take care my friends and say a prayer my trip goes well.
Warm hugs!
have a safe trip and take care. 🙂
