I Went to the Chapel & Totally Got Married! Pt.III

When we got back from our photo session, I walked in to the dj messing up once again! Pissed.Off.I. Was. He was suppose to start the music for the girls to walk into (DIVA by Beyonce) and while he tried, this fool used a cd and it started skipping, grating my nerves along with it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. He did get it right for the guys though. Miracle! Then we walked in for our first dance. We had a blast. We were dancing and singing to each other at the same time. So Amazing by Luther is just one of those feel good songs anyway. Loved it!

Then we headed to our table, and that’s when I was pissed off again. Not only did my coordinator misplace our table numbers, but she actually wrote the table names on paper and stuck the on the tables. W….T….F….??? I was embarassed and had Edwige pull them off the tables IMMEDIATELY. How tacky is that??? And the decorations? Were all messed up. Halfway the way they were suppose to be. The good thing is, no one else noticed. Everyone thought it was great. I, on the other hand, wanted to ask everyone to leave so I could set up the right way! There were tears, but then I straightened up and said Reina, this is your day, your ONLY day. Get it together. So I sucked it up, but it was hard. I worked so friggin hard on this wedding, creating everything with my own mind and my own two hands. I worked tiredlessly. And I was hurt that half of my work wasn’t displayed because either she forgot things, or I did.

I couldn’t even eat. My stomach was hurting for whatever reason, and me being upset didn’t help the situation. I didn’t start having a good time again until we cut the cake. I LOVED my cake! And I loved the surprise grooms cake I got for J! I scored major points with that!

I couldn’t believe we were already at the cake cutting part and about to do the bouquet toss. OMG. When they say it goes by uber fast, they aren’t lying! I don’t think time has ever gone by as fast as it did then! Anyway, I of course picked Single Ladies by Beyonce for the bouquet toss. Some of the ladies danced up to the floor but there were two friends in particular whose butts I wanted to get up there, so Alandria had to dance her way to the back to snatch them up. Not only that, but I had the coordinator call out there names on the mic, completely putting them on blast! It was funny!

Now, everyone thought I had planned to throw the bouquet to Alandria but 1) my aim has never in life been that good and 2) I wanted someone that actually wants to get married to get it, and Alandria isn’t that person. Sooo, it was kind of bo that she caught it lmao.

Next of course was the garter toss. J did this whole production for taking off my garter. Thank God I couldn’t see my family members faces lol. It was fun and innocent, but still, I got real shy real quick lol.

J had this great idea for the garter toss. He said, why don’t I take the garter, put it around my Redskins football, and toss it to the NFL theme song. I said "brilliant!" What he didn’t know is that I ordered a Redskins garter. He loved it! As soon as the music started, guys started coming up. Zero coaxing needed! I guess it’s something about the NFL that gets a man moving lol. Anyway, his twin hiked the ball to him, the Jonathan tossed it to the guys. Surprise surprise, Chuck got it. Chuck ALWAYS gets it. I lie to you not, he’s gotten every garter in the last 6-7 years. He’s nowhere near ready to get married. Pity.

After that the night began to wind down. We got our dance on, we laughed, we had a great time. Before I knew it, it was over. Over. A year of planning for this one day event, and it was over so quickly. I was…amazed, and sad. I want a do over. I want it to last longer. I’m ready to have our vow renewal service right now lol.

*side note* I don’t know if I have any faves that have been with me since mmmm 2004 or so, but do you remember when I use to go to Top Shelf all the time? Well Nic, the young lady in the black, is the one that introduced me to Top Shelf, and who I was with half the time. She is now a breast cancer surviver, and neither one of us frequent Top Shelf anymore. It sure would be interesting to go back in there again. Hmmm….*end side note*

That night we drove over the bridge to the Ritz Carlton were we tore into  his delicious cake and enjoyed our first night as husband and wife. The fact that it was official just seemed real, so I decided to just not think about it too hard anymore, and to just enjoy being with J instead of forcing the term "husband" down my own throat.

God Speed,
Reina

I think I read yuo back in 2004. Congratulations again. The big day goes way too fast doesnt it?

What a beautiful day. It’s a pity about the music and decorations, but at least you two have eachother and the rest of your life together.
