Ending March Recipe Month with a dose of Awesome
I’m totally gonna miss March Recipe Madness! I have to say it really got me motivated to cook everyday. I’ve been focusing lately on making real food, and foregoing a lot of the processed crap, and I’ve really seen a difference in my life. No preggo heartburn every night, and we are actually using everything I buy, instead of throwing out half a head of lettuce at the end of the week because it wilted.
I feel like WIN!
Anyways, I figured I would end the month with my dirty dirty secret. I like dip. All kinds of dip. Especially onion dip! So here you go, my mega awesome caramelized onion goodness Dip-O-Rama!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- Heat olive oil in a small pan over medium-low heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until they turn brown in color, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Take care not to burn the onions. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- In a bowl combine cooled onion, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Chill 30 minutes.
ryn: i’m officially afraid of you.

I wish I could like it, but the mayo and sour cream just kill me. I wish there was a onion dip made with something else… like chocolate. chocolate and onions? ew!!! ha ha

RYN: Understood.. I wasn’t sure if your information was misinformed, so that is why I wanted to point that out. 🙂

ryn: thanks for the well wishes on the house. how are things going for you? I don’t think you’re husband was cheap to get you a sapphire for your engagement ring…if it’s what you wanted, who cares what it cost? glad you got one that you think is beautiful…I hope I get one someday from my fella.

RYN: Yeah, exactly–the “novel” itself was a new form of entertainment, so historically it’s interesting to see early stages of that craft. But content wise? Not so much. Seriously I really do love me some Charlotte Bronte and other Victorian stories with female protaganists, esp. with social commentary. It’s just P&P that made me want to eat my own head.

RYN: That is so cool. I greatly approve!
