Storms

today was another amazing and wonderful day…

then the sky turned orange and i smelled something like electricity in the air.

I looked out the window and it was clear blue sky with an orange tinge, it was beautiful.

in the distance was a grey cloud… which turned into a grey wall and slowly but surely began eating everything up.  you could see the lightning in it flashing all about, and a heavy consistent growl.  It was a scary sight and reminded me of the neverending story… where the nothing comes…

when the lake was no more and it was almost at the house… hailstones the size of large hazelnuts began peppering the building.  It was awesome.

Now as I write… which is probably about 30 mins later.  The sky is bright blue and the sun is shining.  like nothing had happened.

I love summer storms

I love how nature can be so wild and untamed

A few of you sparked something in me.

there was mention that my last post was uncharacteristically long… which gave me something to ponder about.

I’m generally a prolific writer – and haven’t done so in a long time.  So perhaps I will make a few changes regarding that.

I’m going through a toad the wet sprocket moment.  listening to all the music and all the memories associated.

What’s a ‘toad the wet sprocket moment’?

July 6, 2012

Most of our summer storms happen during the night….with lots of lightening and thunder.

They promised storms when I was in Switzerland, and none ever came. Disappointed much! Wish I could see.

Summer storms are the best! Send them our way! Better yet, I want to live in Switzerland. I’ll just come there! 🙂
