The Best New Year’s Resolution Ever~~~

After enjoying a few weeks of Christmas break, my granddaughter returned to her early kindergarten classes yesterday. Welcoming the students back, the teacher talked about the New Year and the popular tradition of making New Year’s resolutions. She then asked each of the students to write their own resolutions. My granddaughter wrote (with help from her teacher) ~ I want to learn to read so I can read to my Grandma.

During her school break, we spent a lot of time together, and I remember telling her that as a child and throughout my life that I loved to read. “Reading is a great adventure,” I emphasized, and added that I looked forward to the day when she would read to me.

“What do you want me to read to you, Grandma?” she asked. “Anything you want,” I replied. “The possibilities are endless.”

What a treasured gift she unknowingly gave me when she wrote the best New Year’s Resolution ever~

Wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities~
