Say You Love Me~~~

Say you love me
like you did last night
Let your feelings overflow
into the broad daylight

Love is more
than candlelight and wine
Love deepens and nourishes
with the passage of time

Let us share
this moment of our lives
Explore my soul
and dive into the passion of my eyes

Let laughter fill our days
and ecstasy our nights
Enjoy each step along the way
and hold on tight

Don’t worry about tomorrow
or the setting of the sun
Don’t linger in the mists
of things yet to be done

This moment now is ours
to live, to love, to be
So look into my eyes
and say you love me~~~

A new chapter has begun. After much discussion and persuasion, my husband has finally retired from working half his lifetime at a job he has come to hate. This is a time of challenge for him as he learns to embrace each day without the trials and hassles of having to meet the expectations of others. He whispered to me that he thought he would never live to see this day… His health problems prevent us from traveling to distant places, but I assure him that we have many journeys yet to explore. I take his hand lovingly in mine, open the drapes, and let the sun shine in on the rest of our lives… with love always~

"When you say you love me
The world goes still, so still inside and
When you say you love me
In that moment,I know why I’m alive

And this journey that we’re on
How far we’ve come and I
Celebrate every moment
When you say you love me
That’s all you have to say
I’LL always feel this way

When you say you love me.
When you say you love me.
Do you know how I love you?"
(When you say you love me by Josh Groban)

Another gem for my Memorabilia Adrift poetry File. Keep them coming! With hubs’ retirement it’s very important for him to keep active physically and mentally. The adage “Use it or lose it” is really true.

Dear friend, I read this with a sense of relief for you and your husband, for now you both truly can embark on the next stage of your journey, he free of the shackles of a job he no longer wanted, and you there, as always, to love and nurture him, as he loves and nurtures you. Love is the greatest gift we can give another. Much happiness to you both.

ryn: With much gratitude and humility I read your kind and wise notes. I cherish them very much, for you delve so deeply into what I say in my writing, and comprehend my words with great clarity and understanding. For sharing your insights, and for your friendship, I offer my deepest thanks.

I came here because I liked the note you left in Oswego’s diary. I’m so glad that your husband has lived long enough to retire. I hope you can have some joyful times ahead. I love that first poem. There was a time when I was much younger that I had hoped of finding a love like that. Life is strange sometimes.

Such an incredibly beautiful entry, adrift. Your love for your husband shines in every wonderful word. *** Come grow old with me, And hold my hand. As your palm slips into mine, Then feel the beat of my heart. It beats with yours, As one, not two. Come grow old with me, Silver and golden joy In love so true. *** You are a very blessed woman, my friend. Always,

🙂 amen to that! we should never have to spend our entire lives stuck in a place that we don’t really enjoy working at. All the best for your husband, I’m sure he’ll adjust soon and taking a well deserved rest will only serve to cure any ailments that he might have.

Glad for your hubby!!! And how fortunate he is to have someone filled with such love & beauty, huh? And doesn’t Josh: say it all: “When you say you love me The world goes still, so still inside and When you say you love me In that moment,I know why I’m alive” May your continued journeys be filled with much love, joy & peace, Adrift~ *smiles* Bri
