All in a Mother’s Day….

My Mother in Law sent this to me. It really touched me so I thought I would pass it on to you all as I know you all have little ones in your life… even if they are grandkids.

All in a Mother’s Day….

‘Good Morning, Lord!’ races through my head
As I wake with a start and jump outa bed
The baby’s awake – and ready to eat
I’m barely awake as I land on my feet

Another day’s here, ‘O, help me Dear Lord.’
‘I want to be patient and follow Your word.’
I head down the stairs – a clean pamper to find
Throw a load in the washer, clean baby’s behind.

My two other toddlers are now wide awake
And before you can blink; one’s toy is at stake
‘Mommy, he hit me!’ a loud teary cry
‘We’re still in our nightclothes!’ I think with a sigh

While making pancakes I breathe a quick prayer
‘Dear Lord guide my steps, help me to be fair’
‘Here is your breakfast!’ I say cheerily
‘I don’t want pancakes!’ says a wailing girlie!

I change the washer, then run out the garbage
I look at my garden – where the beans start to age
I groan deep down inside at the sound of more tears
‘I need Your help Lord,’ this day’s worse then I feared!

As I round up the dishes my mind races on
To the list I must do, but the day is half gone
Between washing and baby and fighting little ones
I haven’t gotten nearly all I wanted to get done…..

The garden needs weeded, and so do the flowers
My kitchen’s a mess and I’ve not enough hours
Once again someone’s crying – I’m nearing a scream
And just like that the old telephone rings!!!

As I stumble to bed, my head in a pout
My heart is burdened, my patience worn out
Why does each day end with me feeling bad?
I don’t get my work done – and my patience…. how sad….

My dear little children all snuggled in bed
Prob’ly still hear their Mommy’s stern voice in their head
‘Be nice – don’t fight – be kind – stop that!!!!’
Oh, if only I could go a day without that!

Then my tender sweet Lord speaks His voice in my ear
‘Listen to me, my child, I need you to hear.
The stage of your life is full of wonder and LOVE
You’ve been given some gifts sent straight from above

It’s the souls you are raising I’m worried about
Not your weedy garden, or your tub’s missing grout
Maybe some dust lies about on your floors
But I’m watching the children who run through your doors!

When you scurry about full of duties to do
You miss some of the best times I’ve given to you
When life’s at an end and the chores are all done
It won’t be the weed-free garden that’s won

It will be the souls you have gathered around
On your journey of life – with it’s joys and its frowns
It’s the hugs and kisses, the stories you’ve told
The blessing of little sweet babies to hold

I’ve given you much and I understand life
I know that you cannot get through without strife
Yes, there’s work to be done – but your work it must wait –
When a tender young soul that you raise is at stake!

Enjoy the sweet giggles, the laughter, the tears
Hold tight to your child – erase the small fears
For life wasn’t meant to be a burden to you
But for you to enjoy as you travel it through!

So remember tomorrow as you start your day
Your work – it can wait – expect a delay
Your children are little and it’s now they need you
I will guide your steps – I am faithful and true!!

are you close to your mom and mother in law? i wouldnt say im CLOSE yet but we get along really well and i enjoy sharing pieces of my private life with my mother in law and seeking her advice and approval. with my mom we arent as close. i dont trust her with the more personal stuff. but i do try to seek her advice on things like gardening because its something we both like.

This is just precious! I really like it and thank you for sharing. I agree with it, too. When Footie is here for his sleep-overs, I only do what ever pertains to being done, for his visit, cooking a meal for us to eat, fixing his bath with toys in it, :*)) Ya’ know? Stuff like that. Oh, and getting on the floor and playing with him!!! BigHugzz….

RYN: Sounds like we are both blessed with great mils!
