NoJoMo #11
We had a quiet day at home today. DH took the day off because it’s Veteran’s Day (he spent several years in the Navy and fought in the first Gulf War), so I made us all a big breakfast this morning. Then I did some school with the kids, dealt with some silly drama to deal with from the meetup.com group I’m in, and made a double batch of Paula Deen’s pumpkin cheesecake for the Thanksgiving party we’re going to tomorrow night. (Incidentally, this recipe is amazing, but much larger than I realized – I intended to make two cheesecakes but ended up with four.)
And all day we waited for DH’s sister to call and let us know when we could bring Albert home. They were waiting for him to eat something, and he just wouldn’t – so finally she just brought him to our house at the end of the day. He’s on IV fluids, so we have to keep him crated tonight, but he’s already eaten some food so we should be able to take the IV out tomorrow. That will be DH’s job, he was a corpsman in the Navy, and quite frankly I don’t do needles so if it was up to me, I’d have to take him back to the vet to get this stuff removed!
It’s a relief to have him home, though it will be better when I can snuggle him properly.
Taking it easy tonight – we’re watching Bones, and I hope to go to bed early, as I didn’t get much sleep last night.
Glad he’s home ok 🙂
