October 14, 2008 (picture heavy!)

It’s that seat-of-the-pants time of year for me…..the November musical at the high school, my “Itti-Bitties” preparation, and then I’ve been struck with the “I can’t stand the color of our walls anymore””and I need to mosaic the fireplace mantle” kind of thinking. So of course during the wildest possible months of the year, we are doing even more major house projects. Projects which all need to be finished by December 12 in time for my yearly home arts and craft shows. Auuuuggghhh!

I’m too overwhelmed to write at the moment…so I’m just going to post some show and tell photos of a few recent projects.

I like this shot of my scruffy son Ian. He was modeling for a drawing idea I’ve got in mind. (He’s such a good sport!)

A painting/illustration I’ve been working on….

My apologies for the poor picture quality—but here are some shots of the City Auditorium window project in my parents little town. Boring window panels before:

My sister working on the sample panels before the community paint by number:

This is me lettering the center panels after the (wonderfully successful) community paint by number.

Two of the six center panels (a separate project that mom and I are working on together)—nearly done, but not quite in these shots. Pam wrote the prose for the different historical/community scenes depicted on the panels which can be read as you look around each window in the auditorium: “Our ancestors planted their dreams—nurtured them with faith—prospered in the hard work of progress—dedicated to guiding the way. The spirit of community coming together—sustains us today and leads us toward tomorrow”

A blurry photo of the panels installed—but it gives kind of an idea of how this wonderful group effort changed the auditorium and thrilled the community.

Clay projects—a dragon wedding cake topper for an eccentric couple….

New to my ornaments this year: “Clay Couture” These are a couple one of a kind dresses which are about 5” tall.

“Seussical the Musical” costumes in progress. Lots of fun with pipecleaner headpieces and wigs, colorful felt and silly stuff!

“Who cadet” Uniform

The very beginnings of a “Who” costume with a pincushion hat..

Our Cat in the Hat and JoJo..

So there you have it. All is well and wild…normal for this time of year. I’ve been reading here and there when I can–but rarely noting (sorry, m’dears!)

Must. Go. Sleep. (I just wish sleep didn’t take so much TIME out of my life!)

Love to all!

Wow! This is a fabulous array of the various creative projects with which you’re involved!!! The window panels are smashing, the artwork and costumes and hats are ravishing, and I SOOOO adore those Clay Couture ornaments! And Trevor…(that IS Trevor, is it not?) has SUCH a mischievous smile, that is irresistable! Seeing you up on the table, barefoot, concentrating so, with your breezy ‘do (don’twince, it’s cute!), makes you look like a teenager! 🙂 Meanwhile, I think I need to get out my box of pipecleaners!

You just never cease to amaze me. I think I say that in every update of this type. And your scruffy son is CUTE! I’m way too old for him, lol, but just thought I’d pass that along. All your boys have good genes. Yay Seussical!

LOL A wonderful celebration of life and creativity as usual 🙂 Enjoy the riot of the next few months even if you have to sleep sometimes … after all sleep can bring dreams and ideas that turn out to be great help in creativity! Hugs,
