Home again, home again….

It was hard, hard, hard to leave my family and get on the flight back home.

But I’m back and happy to see all my “boys”, and settling into life here again.

The house has been in shambles all month while I was gone, as Don refinished the wood floors in the dining room, living room and hallways. He also cut out the floor in the main bathroom, put in miracle board and now it is ready for tiling. The wood floors look great, and Don did his best, but everything in ALL the rooms is out of place, mid-renovation and covered in sawdust.

My gardens, although well watered, are in horrible shape—overgrown and choked with giant weeds and shooter trees.

Plus my rascal boys had gotten the crazy idea to give the poodle a haircut—only they gave her a mohawk, cut the hair on just one leg really short, and cut all the beautiful long wavy curls off her ears. She looks like this, and I can tell she is not happy about it.

I have much to do to get the house livable again, and placate the blushing poodle before Dancing Light and JustElle arrive in town tomorrow! I am soooo looking forward to their visit, but MAN, have I got a lot of work ahead of me today!

More later!

:)xo

Poor pup! But, with some fine tuning from you and the passage of time, she will be fine! : ) When all the dust has settled and been cleared away, your home will look wonderful…..Don’s one great guy!

Oh dear, the poor dog! Look at that little face, she’s absolutely mortified! 🙂 Be well,

When I was growing up, we had a standard-sized poodle. She would always prance like a princess when my dad took her to the “real” groomer. But when he shaved her bare in our El Paso summers, she’d hang her head in humiliation. Poor baby. ryn: I love you. I love your interesting note. I’m trying to talk my kid into moving to Colorado. Or Seattle. Or anywhere West, though I don’t seem to want tomove back to Texas.

That poor poodle. And hope your visit is terrific.

I’m stifling a full-blown chuckle at the dog 🙂 xo

Poor doggie. She looks embarrassed. Just keep reminding her you love her, and that her hair WILL grow back!

heheheh. poor poodle. but COOLER poodle!

poor doggy! Lord, I bet there’s a lot to do, but have a great visit with your friends! Long time no talk!

August 2, 2006

I had a haircut like that once…swore to never go back to that “beauty” shop. Welcome home.

August 3, 2006

Have a great visit with your OD friends!

August 4, 2006

AH! I missed this entry somehow!!! Welcome back. *SQUEEEZE* Caaaall me! 😉 And RYN about the illo… draw it! Then I can sub the story with an illustration. Such a plus. 😉

August 6, 2006

…poor poor Chloe! She does look very upset and embarrassed! It seems a bit surreal to see those chairs that my butt actually sat in! 🙂 You guys are the best! I would have liked to have spent more time talking with you and Don but there never is enough time is there? Thank you SO much for your time and hospitality. You were the highlight of my trip! 🙂

August 9, 2006

Hee! I’m sure the boys were just trying to cool poor Chloe off! Maybe you can just think of her as trying a new seasonal do for now? And you know what? As annoying as it might be to come back to some controlled chaos, wouldn’t it be a teensy bit worse to know that somehow, in all your absence, your skills weren’t missed? And you’ll also be in good shape to start out on the frenzy of drama, again!(that is, if you ARE going to participate in that again?) Anyway, lucky gals to meet you in your lovely and creative abode!

thanks as always for your nice notes. Taffy got the worst haircut of her life ystdy at a new geoomers. So bad, in fact, that John trimmed her some more this morning…now she looks like a rat:::hugs:::

Well, I hope your company got just a big a chuckle out of that “New Wave” haircut as I did! RYN: Hard to see them go, eh? Remember this: a boy always returns home to his Mama right up until they marry. So…until they marry, they still belong to US! **HUGS**

Hi 🙂 Belated welcome home! Love the doggie’s style! lol How about August 30th for a deadline? If that’s not okay, just tell me what you need. I’m trying to get it together to send in by early to mid-September. Because of my health needs, it hasn’t been at the top of the list of things I had to do. But I’d still like to get it done by my Birthday, if possible. Sure won’t happen if I don’ttry 😉 The title is slightly changed. It is now: Fearless Dreamer (maybe in bold) Thunder and Grace (maybe in italics) Presented by Timi Thornton (smaller and italics) How’s that seem to you? Thanks so very much for doing this. It’s truly more important and wonderful for me than I’ll probably admit 😉 Hugs,

I saw some covers on lulu.com that had the title at the top left and subtitle below that, then the art below that and the author name below that. But you are the artist 🙂 So it will be what you think is best.

ps Did I ever give you my email? It’s: ttimita@ipa.net

Thanks so much for your notes. Yes, G is a wack job. Heh. Fortunately I dont let her behavior upset me. That’s a lot of growing up there – learning that some people are just not treating me well enough to even be my friends and knowing I’m worth more – enough to walk away and stand alone if I have to, because it’s just not worth it. Generally people who play games will probably alwaysconfuse me. It’s not my personality type at all. For which I am grateful. I like straightforward, kind people much more! Thanks for your encouragement about my body and the challenges. It’s always great to get a good vote of confidence from a friend. Doctors do enough to belittle you to make you feel inadequate and inept about your own body. The crappy doctors, anyway. I’m not sure how much of this is stress and how much is physiological. It’s tough, but today is a bit better. So how did your visit go with od friends?? Lucky you to get to meet with them and visit. 🙂

Sorry, but I giggled a little at your poor poodle. Her hair will grow and she will recover her self-respect – eventually. Oh, renovations are hard to live with while they are happening but I’m sure the results will be well worth all that dust!

August 9, 2006

Oh that sweet loveable pup! How she touched my heart when she came and laid her head on me as if we were old friends. Thank you for the wonderful visit. I’m very fortunate to have had “in person” visits with you now on two occasions I hope they will be two of many. It will be fun to show you my countryside when you and Don come my way. You two are a treat to know in a disharmonious world – a joy.

She looks very sad about her new look, poor darling. Enjoy their visit…love

August 15, 2006

Poor poodle!!! 😉 RYN: I’m so glad you like it….you have such wonderful taste, I take that as a big compliment!!! Thanks!

August 15, 2006

…hope everything is well with you and that Don is back and C is settled into his new abode. I hope he’s happy at school and gives it adequate time to adjust. It’s going to be culture and climate shock for sure. BUT…if he can survive…what an experience it will be! 🙂

Puppins does look rather mortified. 🙂

ryn: I’ll try…

August 19, 2006

RYN: Thanks so much, my dear. Your positive thoughts and kind words are appreciated. 🙂

Fabulous! 🙂 I look forward to seeing the sketch. And I will be honest. Thanks and Hugs,

Ryns: Thank you! I’m glad you, of all people, appreciated the portrait! I feel like SUCH a latecomer to PS, but it feels good to do ANYTHING artistic, even though it feels a little like cheating, ya know? But it’s fun! I’ve used other image editing programs before but lost them in my computer *clean-up.* But since PS is THE gold standard, I should be glad. (I say as I gnash my teeth, trying to learn it too quickly.) As to the glass…what can I say, I am mesmerized by it, myself, too!

Yehaw! Woohoo! Yea 🙂 Thanks so much for the great cover sketchs! I will try to write you tomorrow or at Saturday. I am totally miserable right now from an extra long dentist appointment and the steroid injection to my neck the day before. So I am loopy and not very good at making sense or typing for long. But I like your design and will write you as soon as I am able. Hugs and Love 😀

NOW .. Now, I’m getting excited about the book 🙂 You made my awfully painful day ever so much better! XOX

welcome back to your boy world. love,

I’ll be emailing you a little later this afternoon. Sorry, everytime I’ve sat to do that, something pulled me away. I’m kind of crazy when I have steroids in my system. The only change I want is in the type, style and content. I love the drawing 🙂 Did you go to lulu.com to see the size it needs to be for a 6 by 9 inch hardcover dustcover? And the graphic had to be 300 dpi. I think some friends innyc will help me, if there’s something technical that I can’t handle. Cya soon in email 🙂

You have email from both my addresses. Sigh. Hope I made sense. The highlights don’t show in my hair in this pic, but have you ever seen me? Here’s a snapshot: entryview.asp?authorcode=C101897&entry=20152 Not that it matters, but I like to know how people look so I have a picture of them in mind, so there. Have fun drawing. You are a fabulous artist 🙂 XOX

Hey you! I wanted you to know I was thinking (fondly) of you this morning. Love you,

I’ve been loving your notes so. Thank you. My kid amazes me sometimes. I just don’t know where she gets the guts. She said she’s decided to speak out in class if she knows the answer because it makes her crazy when everyone just sits there after the teacher has asked a question. She just … glows. I can see her glowing from here. I don’t know how we got so lucky. She even likes riding the bus! But I can feel her stretching away, if that makes sense. I can feel her need for her friends mounting, her (perceived) need for me lessening. You know what I mean. It’s all good.

ps – I laugh every time I see this picture of your poor dog. I’m assuming her hair is growing back out?

RYN: Ernesto is predicted to go up the middle of the state and quickly veer off. He’s not going to be a devastating storm and will probably dump most of his strength over the Everglades, which is lightly populated. If Ernesto doesn’t change course (it’s been known to happen), we’ll be fine. If he does come our way, we’ve made preparations. This one will not be a bad one.

August 29, 2006

…be sure to check out the “what a surprise” entry to see the finished product. Can you see the artisticness (is that a word?) in the way that he’s arranged it all? It’s very cool and of course…the whole color scheme was his idea.
