“Turn”

If there’s one thing in my life I’ve learned,

It’s that there exist some corners that can never be turned.

I will always find myself stuck in the bend,

And unable to see my life through to its end.

But a straight path is hardly what I wish.

I want no stocking of the lake that I fish.

A life without troubles is worth no life at all,

For I know I can never reach the top without taking the odd fall.

And to you my beloved beholders do I wish to relay,

That it is only in the face of death that true life does lay.

Yeah, death’s a total buzz kill.

I LOVE that bit about wanting “no stocking of the lake that I fish”!! What a great sentiment, and a great metaphor for it too!! Kudos! Again, there are a number of things you can do to tighten up the meter. If you want suggestions, ask, otherwise I’ll keep my mouth shut. 🙂

“No stocking of the lake that I fish”

Ha. Rhyming is hard sometimes, I guess.
