Thankful (NJM18)

First of all, a Happy Thanksgiving! to everybody who celebrates it.  I hope you and your loved ones are having a peaceful and happy holiday.

This is going to be a short one, because there’s some eating to be done, but I did want to put a thankful list out there.  What am I thankful for?

First, my wife and partner for so many years – she made everything in my life possible, and on top of it all, is my best friend too.  I am thankful that she came into my life every day, and thankful for the love she gives me, more than she will ever know.

Second, my three children – who are all so unique, and talented – I am proud of them and what they have accomplished every day. They have brought so much happiness and laughter into my life, and have all grown into such wonderfully textured adult persons.

Third, my family – our extended family have always been wonderful to us.  My children are so lucky to have two complete sets of grandparents that they have been able to learn from and live with all their lives.  Also, all their aunts, uncles, cousins, and everybody else – they have each brought unique and fantastic things to all of our lives.

Fourth, my OD family – and an especial thanks for the OD Admins, EWS, X, and Gail – who have done so much for us at OD, with no thought of pay or other reward.  They are true treasures.  And so also are all the other people here.

Fifth, my country – I am lucky to live in a place that provides the most wonderful opportunities and freedoms, like nowhere else in the world (in my opinion).  I think people here don’t always appreciate how much we have, compared to other places in the world – we are truly blessed.

There’s much more – but that’s the high points.  The others I will try to think of throughout the day.
