Favorites / Plus Only on Front Page

Good evening all,

It seems that the system was allowing the excerpts of entries from diaries that were set to Favorites Only to be posted to the front page of the site. This was not right, since those entries are only intended for people on a diarist’s Favorites list.

Although the system would not let people actually access the entry, you could still see the first couple lines while the entry was on the front page.

I’ve fixed this so that if your diary is set to Favorites Only, your entries will never show up on the front page of the site.

It turns out there was a similar problem with entries from diaries that were set to be visible only to Plus members also showing up on the front page for everybody to see. I’ve fixed that too. Oh, and these changes also apply to the longer Recent Entries list.

Why cant I edit my Diary title and front page? Everytime I try I get an error page.

Don’t forget to fix the problem of privately edited entries not showing up on Faves as updated when put on public. Unless you’ve fixed it already 🙂 And the entry editing thing too – error messages.

thanks! it had been kind of annoying to see part of an entry, think it looked interesting and then not be able to go to it.

I know this is unrelated to this entry, but I’ve been having problems with editing entries. It’ll come up with a little prompt when I click in the left column ‘edit entry’ and it’ll say ‘operation aborted’ and you have to click ‘ok’ and a blank page will come up saying it couldn’t be loaded. Maybe you could look into this as well when you have a chance. Or maybe it’s just my browser, who knows. 😉

yesterday,i changed my username from lonesome faerie to jellybean princess but kept the same password.when i tried to unlock it less than 10 minutes later it told me that the password is incorrect although im definate that i wrote the right one.ive requested my password but it hasnt come though.im sure i wrote my e-mail address on my profile.what is going on?i want to keep my diary,not change it.

hi…it seems that i am unable to edit my entires….it will say something like “Internet Explorer is unable to open (my FOD page) Operation aborted. Perhaps you would like to look into it??THanks.

I want to know why my private diary LuckyMe was deleted. It had fairly recent entries and I don’t understand why I can’t get into it anymore. I know the password and the name are correct and yet it won’t let me in.

Also, it was a diary my boyfriend and I shared and he knows the password and title as well. He can’t get into either.

It’s been two days, and for some reason it won’t let me save an entry. What do I do?

Could not find the regular contact for DM. What happened to my fifty something diary circle?

I think there are still some issues with the recent entries on the opening page, it looks seperated and in out of line blocks on my page. But perhaps it is my computer?

How in the heck do we block a diarist? I don’t see the link that we used to have!!!!!

User Blocking Search for Author by Name I used the search so I could block someone who changed their diary to a new one and I don’t want this person ever bothering me only when I typed the name in the search it doesn’t show any results. I can see the diary from the index though, but I can’t block them at all!!!!!

hey, good job with OD4. One minor thing that doesnt really meen much, jsut makes life easier. On the old write an entry page there wer elinks along hte lef tto, perhaps go abck to diarycontents, or acces favorites. Since I sometimes copy blocks of code I used to right click, open new window, then be able to go right to what I needed, but now it’s ahrder. Can that be added, pwease??? 🙂

What is “note history?”

I know how to open my diary up, and make entries,but how can I get the link to put it on my Aim profile? When I try to copy and paste the direct link, it says that the page is not avaible, and you can click to go back to the homepage. So could you please tell me how to get the link for my diary, to put on my profile, so they can read i, but not be signed it. Thanks

I still have to use HTML in my entries instead of pushing buttons to make my text bold, italic, etc.

Because I haven’t received a reply to my email…this was the content… I’m confused. I just paid the subscription on 9-17-03 for $20. I was refunded only $1.64 and I have been cancelled. I just paid $18.36 for less than one month of OD. I’m extremely unhappy about this. What are my options here?

Things are moving really slow for me…when I first get on the site its like fine but when I go to my favorites and then try to read entries in my friends diaries they take a while to load and then half the time they dont show up… I get an error

Hey, This is just to inform you that I cannot access the site OR my diary from my connection, while everyone else can get here. What could be the problem? Please try and sort this out. Thanks.

Just tried to note Woman Of Many Hats and got a private diary page instead of it leaving the note. Tried Me Explorer earlier and it gave http 500 error. Just two examples lately. Good luck with it.

I was wondering if there there is something that only allows people with diaries to read your diary..instead of it just being people on your favorites because then you can’t get notes from random readers and I like getting those. Amanda

I have a question .. why is it that we have all the color things and the things to change the fonts and stuff .. if they never work? I got to use them in my OD once .. and then since then they have never worked

for some reason i cannot leave any notes with punctuation at least it started that way now its been giving me an error message and not letting me leave any notes at all help please

why doesn’t the WYSIWYG editor work for macs?

Did you know that the ‘edit this entry’ option is really messed up? I can never edit my entries!

OK I am getting a lot irritated that after almost a WEEK I cannot still use certain PLUS features, when I have paid, and my payment went through. I emailed and you asked me to email you back w/ the diary name and you’d look into it, days ago. Still no response via email, nor is my diary fixed.

Just a suggestion, don’t know if it would work…But with everyone going “privates only”, it would be cool to be able to send someone a note asking them to let you on. I got a sweet note from somoeone today who I really wanted to say “thank you” to. But when I clicked on his name it said that I did not have access. If you had an option on that “no access” page that let you send that person (c)

also, dm, why are diaries who are favorites only allowed to be on RC?

hello diary master person… ummm there is a diary that states my full name.. they have written harassing things about me and i would like them to be deleted… thank you i will continue to leave notes(respectfully) until something is done about it. i feel extreamly uncomfortable about my full name appearing in their diary.. the diary is “TheWeHateStephClub” thank you for your time~concerned~

what about them being RC’d?

I recently got a note from the diarist under the name TrueChristian. Apparently this person has had their diary deleted by OD twice already, and I can see why; their entries are positively offensive to Christians and many other people as well. In addition, the notes they leave are particularly offensive as well. . . .

. . . “Accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, this very minute or BURN in the LAKE OF FIRE for all eternity!!!” was the one that I got. It ties in quite well with the content of their diary. Please forgive me if this is not the right place to report such a thing, as I could find no other place to do so. However, I feel that something should be done about this. Thanks for your time. -rvm

I have a question…..how do u put HTML up on ur entry..? is it possible?

I just tried to click on someone on readers choice — and they are apparently on faves only. Is there any way this can be changed? I really wanted to read the entry but apparently it wasnt for my eyes to read – just faves – so I dont think it should be there.

My paid diary finally works. However, I still cannot find most of my old PayOD friends. I found one via a note she left someone else and I was able to both see her diary and add her to my favorites. If I search for her or any other though, no luck. I don’t understand why this is happening.

I don’t understand how to get pictures on my page.
