A Little Themey Change

Okay, this is a little one, but as I was reading the theme entries for our latest theme (the State of OD, as some have called it), this was driving me nuts.

The list of authors and entries on the theme page was, in the past, ordered alphabetically. The problem with this was, if you left the page for a couple hours and came back later, there was no way to tell which theme entries were new, and had been added since you last looked at the list.

I had noticed this before, but last night it bugged me, and then I saw this mentioned in somebody else’s entry – the list should be displayed in order as entries are added, so you know which ones are new.

So now the theme list appears in order of submission, with newest entries at the top. You will also see a datestamp next to the entry, indicating when it was submitted.

Since I just added this today, it will only half-work for the current theme – all of the entries added before today don’t carry a datestamp. However, this will straighten itself out for next week’s theme – when all entries will be datestamped.
