My Words on God

I am coming out of hiding to talk about this for a minute)

I can not be the only one who is growing tired of seeing the "God’s Word" posts every 3.5 seconds.

I have never been of the mind set that you could influence belief in a higher power by forcing content on someone. You can have someone read those passages but you can not force them to believe it. The only thing they are doing is making the folks that are already believers cover their faces because they are ashamed to be associated with fanatics that post a million times. Not to mention driving the people that are not believers farther from the Word.

Mankind’s biggest fear is losing control. So forcing someone to read something and not giving them the choice about it is plucking the string of that fear. The choice to believe in God is one each person should make on their own and come to alone. It is a journey that starts in the mind and ends in the heart. You start with trying to be logical about the existence of a higher power and you can only end with what your heart tells you is real.

So what do I believe?

Well that is not important. My opinion and belief could only act as a vote cast in a poll that ends up misleading in the hearts and minds of millions. Don’t believe or disbelieve because everyone else does. And don’t let yourself be bullied by fanatics who feel like brow beating you into submission is the right way to go. Religion is not about submission, it’s about love.

Good night world.

I am reading along here and really like the reading I find, which makes me happy that you left me a note. I’m also glad you have returned to this space and are writing more.

Bravo! I am so glad to know that there is someone else out there that has that view. Why try to force religion on people? Let people believe what they want to believe and leave them the hell alone!

true. this is very true. religion should be based upon LOVE!

This is a good start, now let it loose ans say what you really feel because so far I’m with you.

amen! i’ve just began attending seminary and the vow i made to myself was to never force my views on another human being. what they believe is between them and God. however I hope the way i live my life will let others see how God has transformed my life and perhaps inspire them to look deeper into their own belief systems. 🙂

I’m so glad to see you’re back! I’d have to say that with this particular entry – it’s as if you stepped into my mind and plucked out my own thoughts on the issue. And btw – thanks for the note.
