Dust

dust lingers fallen angels bodies do crumble

into pieces all in memory

the why is all in propaganda lies

that linger on the edges of reason

to follow leaders with agenda full

revenge like barbed wires that surrounded

us our bodies did fall apart gaut skinned

shadows of what we were etched the

landscapes planes contours face

trapped bones breaking shattering

without calcium ripping our skin

it was not pretty the war none are

ever the images flow behind

my eyelids  movies cant grasp

the reality that never goes away

so close to freedom i was full

oh hope a hope that

inspired so many it makes me glad

but also sad as i watched earth

in retrospect my hands cannot

go pass the fog the surrounds

you read my words that do teach

but there is so much more to learn

as i sit here in a place you may call

Heaven or something else

dust surround the forgotten books left

maybe they too hold forgotten insight

of plight of war

as i remove the barbed wire that is time

called forgiveness

but always

remember
