Explanations

Well, I had quite a few questions in my last entry about wedding plans….where do I start? Travis and I started talking about it seriously several months ago, but only of late have we really sat down and started to make extensive plans. Probably around the time I first started talking of planning, when was that, June, July? Anyway, right now we are most likely looking at a January wedding in Las Vegas with Terry and Katie as our only attendants. We are unsure as to whether or not we will have more people with us. We certainly don’t expect any of our other friends to make the journey, or have the money for it, to go along with all the other issues that have arisen…We don’t have a date absolutely set in stone, but as of right now it looks to be the 15th of January. We are planning to make the reservations by the end of the month to make sure we get the date we want. I know Vegas is known for its spontaneity, but we do want to have some degree of organization first. We found a wonderful chapel that seems less commercialized than some of the others, and it seems like we will be able to work really well with them. For starters, we will be able to have an hour instead of the half hour most other places give us. And they just seem more professional. More details to come later on, once more plans are in place. And no, I haven’t been “proposed to” officially – hence the comments in earlier entries about Travis waiting for the right time to give me my ring. So that just makes me an even more unorthodox bride :p

So far I have bought my shoes, ordered my dress and my tiara. Both are simply gorgeou. My dress was a lot nicer than many others I’ve seen – I will be wearing an “informal” wedding gown, because I don’t want a train and obviously the need to have it go to Vegas with me, lol. The tiara was a massively sweet find, much much cheaper than any boutique item and much better quality; I felt that a lot of what I had seen in stores just seemed too over the top for my liking. Am on the hunt for a pretty necklace and earring set that matches what I already have. I looked at Claire’s because that was my first idea, but the stuff I found there not only looks tacky but also extremely fake. Of course I’m gonna be wearing fakes, but at least making them good fakes, lol. Of course if I hit Powerball before then, it’s a whole different scenario. I’m gonna keep trying on eBay though because all my luck has come on there.

We also decided that we’re just gonna stay on in Vegas for the honeymoon, because one, it saves us from having to fly elsewhere, two, we’re not gonna have enough time to see everything in just two days, and three, from there we can go to the Grand Canyon or something cool like that. There’s just so much to do, and of course we’re not gonna want to come home! And that’s the gist of what we know so far, the more we know, the more I will share! Oh and I have pics if anyone is curious; I’m not going to post because I want to surprise Travis

Anyway…this week was big, because I had an interview for a new opportunity within the city. It would partially be some of the things I am doing now, as well as more administrative fucntions. The important part is that it would be a significant pay increase, at the very least taking home an extra couple hundred a pay period. I know since we will be just starting out we will need to save as much as possible, so it would be perfect. I’m not sure what to take from the interview, it was very hard because the guy interviewing me made me feel a bit shaky; I felt like I had to sell myself and that I wasn’t asked enough quetsions. But hopefully I did okay. I know I can do this. But it’s out of my hands and onto the hands of God.

I am ready for the weekend though, because aside from the interview work totally sucked this week, even more than usual. I felt that everyone just grated on my nerves a lot more than other times, and on several occasions I felt like decking someone. My back has also been really achy of late, especially last night, and that hasn’t helped my mood any. I just need to relax. I am going up to Kokomo this weekend, and somewhere up there we will be going out for Travis’s birthday. Not sure where though but I imagine it will be fun.

Well gotta finish up the workday here and head on home. Just one more day and I’m free for two.

Congrats on the soon to be engagement. Not a big fan of the big wedding? I guess it would be hard to get all your Miami people and the Indiana people together in one place. Hope you get the job!
