Our changing and trying times
These have been and still are some changing and trying times. It seems most people blame Obama for our countries current economic crisis. The loss of jobs, lack of work, people losing everything that they worked so hard for and that includes the tearing apart of families in the process.
President Obama is not to blame for our economic crisis because it started before he took office and the U S isn’t the only country affected because it is a world wide pandemic so to speak. I do not envy him or any other leader of a country simply because they are being made a scapegoat, after we we have to blame somebody. Right??? I will say this tho, even if Obama isn’t to blame for the downturn of the economy, him and Congress could do more to help like capping pricing on needed goods and services like food, medication, electricity, water, and etc.
I did not mean for this to start off as a political writing and I am quite sure that my writing will piss off a few people and possibly even try to turn this into a political debate. To each his/her own. I could care less about politics because there are more important things in life like, oh should I say, LIVING perhaps.
Times are tough for all of us. People that used to have great paying jobs and with college degress are now flipping burgers or mopping floors for minimum wage and those are the lucky ones that found a job. We are being told that the economy is on the rise and recovering but I don’t see it. If that was the case people wouldn’t still be losing their homes or anything else for that matter.
With everything that has happened in the past couple of years because of the economic downswing, the thing that really gets me is prices continue to sky rocket even tho people have less money to spend. The lack of money that we have also affects our local and state goverments causing them to double and sometimes even triple fees and fines. For example, here in Florida, a seatbelt violation went from a $25 fine to $95 and the law was even changed, as in most states I am sure, to make the violation a primary offense instead of a secondary meaning that you can be pulled over and wrote up simply because you failed to wear a seatbelt.
With the current state of affairs that is affecting everyone and people losing homes and autos and prices continue to rise, it makes me wonder just how many lives are lost on daily basis simply because someone couldn’t afford to buy their maintenance medication like insulin, heart and blood pressure meds just to name a few. That’s something you just don’t hear about but it does make you wonder.
When will all the madness end and when will we actually be on the road to recovery? It is true some areas do seem to be making a comeback, even if it is slow, but in alot of cases it is to little to late. All that we can do is to continue to survive to the best of our abilities and hope for the best. Our country made it thru the first great depression and we will make it thru this one. The big question now is will we learn a lesson from all this??? Sad to say but this is just my opinion but I don’t think we will. It might seem like we did at first but given time we will eventually return back to our old ways and takes our jobs and the what not for granted yet again.
I think we the people are to blame for this economy. We are consumers in the truest sense. We buy things, but manufacture very little. Aside from health care, and transportation most jobs are just not that important, without manufacturing (which is what pretty much got us out of that first depression that you mention), there is not much need for other jobs. I turns my stomach when I hear people say that the government needs to create more jobs. No it doesn’t, people need to become marketable and provide a necessary service that others are willing to pay for. Otherwise a persons job is not a real job, but a handout. Something that was created to pay them, but not really needed.

The problem could be said to have caused by the federal reserve bank that printed more bills then they had money, however they could only do that because we the people let them.
