Tuesday 1/7/25

6:49a.m. I’m above the dirt. I had a weird dream about being at a baseball game. I was talking to an umpire  on home plate. We were talking about the Catholic Church. I said I was a Protestant Then somebody hit a home run. He ran the bases. 

I was enjoying the game but Chocolatechip was bored out of her mind. It was also hot so we decided to leave. We walked down the street to our car. We got in. We did not know where to go to next. I woke up then. 

I had a fairly good night. The aide sucked. In the morning he turned off the heat. I was freezing. He got me up and dressed by six. I went to the nurse’s station to complain. They did turn the heat back on. 

I then called Chocolatechip. She was upset about her neighbor. We were talking about the neighbor saying she is out for herself. I said when they are out of cigarettes or need money they will be nice. Chocolatechip said she is not loaning anyone anything. We talked for a few minutes then she had to take her meds.  

I was feeling cranky this morning. I got my juice and coffee . The coffee was nice and hot. A good cup of coffee in the morning always makes me feel good.  

10:49a.m. Breakfast was skimpy. They served toast and scrambled eggs. I had a hard time staying.awake after I ate. I guess I was still miserable and cranky. But I made it to the Fiesta Room for the coffee social. The second cup did the trick. I also did my exercises while there. The exercises and the coffee perked me up. 

I saw the foot doctor when I got back to my room. He trimmed my toenails I also learned I have an appointment with a GI doctor on January 16. Then I called Chocolatechip. She was looking to buy a movie Gidget Grows Up. I said don’t shop on walmart.com. They always screw up your order. Then she went over her budge. Her finances are looking good this month we talked until she wanted to get something to eat.    

2:28p.m. I made it back to the Fiesta Room for lunch. I ate two fish sandwiches and peaches. Then I became painfully bloated. In fact I was sick all afternoon with constipation m It hurt like hell. I wanted to be put back in bed and changed. But I couldn’t get any help. So I was laying in urine and poop all afternoon. 

I’m in bed now. The aide came at 2:20. She wasn’t very friendly. She did her job. I’m ok now but still hurting from pooping for nearly two hours. My afternoon was hellish to say the least. 

3:01p.m. I just finished talking with my social worker. She was doing a quarterly review. I spoke.up about a few things. First I said they keep taking my trash bucket. Then I said my care at night leads a lot to be desired. Also, I’d like to be changed more than twice during the day. Third I told.tjem about being painfully constipated. I was having problems earlier and it hurt like hell. I’m going to be put on stool softeners. I thought I did a good job.       

4:21p.m. I was talking with Chocolatechip for almost an hour. She was watching a movie called Ordinary People . That was a great movie starring Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore and I think Timothy Hutton. We watched that one about a million times. We talked about different scenes in the movie. I liked one part where Donald and Mary were at this party. Donald was telling someone their son wasn’t seeing a psychiatrist.Mary, his wife, didn’t like that.Anyways we both thought that was a great movie. 

We talked about that and other things for a long time. I mentioned that I was looking at books. I’m going to save up my monthly stipend until I get $200. This should be in May. Then I’m buying fifteen books for $192 something. One of them will be a new Stephen King book Never Flinch. 

Chocolatechip said I should save up and buy a tablet. I said the one I’m using is fine. She feels I need a backup. You never know how much longer this will last she said. As usual she is right. But I’m addicted to books and will need more books by May.     

6:30p.m. I had a BBQ roast pork sandwich and a cookie for lunch. It was skimpy and the meat was tough. I didn’t have much of an appetite. I watched Channel 9 news while I ate. 

Chocolatechip had an early appointment with her case manager. So she went to bed at five. We talked a few minutes. She said she is going to the bank to get her checked check . Then, in the afternoon, Concast is delivering a new modem that they will install at no cost. I’ll believe that when I see it 

This was a fairly good day. I wasn’t in too much pain from the hoyer pad. I had three meals. My room was nice and warm. The morning was good but I was in a lot of pain from constipation Tomorrow will be a better day
