My Sims Music Videos lol
So, I wrote a bunch of kids songs, some of which were based on my kids’ picture books that are currently in production. One of my favorite ones is A Panda Bear Would Never Do that ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWCRaMph9uM )
Another of my favorite ones is A Horse Inside His Head ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhvFy9veZV0 ) which is about a boy with an imaginary horse. It was a really fun song to write and make, and it got over 7000 views on Youtube in one day. So, that is surprising to me.
Not all my music videos are made with the Sims, but I do enjoy doing them this way.
I took a long break from songwriting to focus on writing my last book, and I think I had also gotten burned out from the music for a while. I had been writing a song a day for like 60 days. It was just neverending inspiration for such a long time and then one day, I woke up and had no ideas. It was alarming so I got to work on illustrations for my picture book (The Handmade Tail – a picture book about a cat that was born without a tail and so went through life feeling different and getting teased but she focused on developing her interests and skills and made hats. Everyone wanted her hats, and then she got an idea to make a tail for herself, and then everyone wanted one. — I guess I should’ve led this paragraph with “spoiler alert!” lol)
So, the past few days I’ve been getting new song ideas running through my head again when I wake up in the morning. I’ve jotted a few ideas down but haven’t been that interested in fully writing the songs. I’ve been focused on my newly released book, and wrapping things up before December 16th, and already thinking about projects I want to tackle in 2025. I want to record the audio book version of my latest book, finish up the illustrations on my picture books that are not already in production and perhaps redo the illustrations on previous picture books to get them even better.
That being said, the way I actually work and the way I think I work are two different things. I can plan a dozen things and have them all on the schedule and then get hit with inspiration for something completely different. Perhaps that’s what it takes for inspiration to hit me. To have a schedule so full that it doesn’t allow me time for anything else, and that way my brain isn’t trying to come up with a new idea, so I relax and then it hits me! So I end up pushing off all the other stuff planned and going with what inspires me. To be honest, it’s a miracle I get anything done lol.
