Overwhelmed

I am overwhelmed by all my projects and ideas. I need to give my brain a break for the weekend and try not to work on any projects. This morning before I was out of bed I already had drawn another image for the coloring book I’m working on. I love Procreate! When I’d finally finished the coloring page, I duplicated it and colored it in for the cover photo. It didn’t seem to take that long but when I actually got out of bed it was somewhere near 11 a.m.

Next week I want to work on my novel. I didn’t write on it hardly at all this week. My mandatory work took up time this week and it will next week as well, and the boss texted earlier and we may have to have a couple meetings today so to expect a couple calls. So far nothing. I can’t wait until this major project (three in one) is finished, so I will have more free time. What I hate is the infringement on my weekends. Yesterday we were supposed to have two meetings and one today but they all got cancelled.

So, today I’m ready for work if necesssary, but meanwhile I’m just relaxing and listening to the wind howl outside and watching leaves fly by my window lol. There is a small maple tree outside my apartment that has the top almost the height of my window. It’s been there ever since I moved in five years ago and it’s grown a lot but I don’t know how tall it will be when it is full grown. I hope it grows at least high enough to block the view of the building beside ours lol. Not that the other building is ugly necessarily, but a tree is prettier. Anyway, this fledgling tree, possibly because it is between two buildings, has the firmest grasp on this one leaf on the end of a top branch that I’ve ever seen. All the other leaves are gone, and the leaves on all the trees across the street, but this one tiny red leaf seems to be permantly stuck on this wisp of a branch. The entire tree is out there waving around in the wind (pretty strong winds) and his tiny little red leaf is like a little flag that refuses to let go. Good for it!
