Entry 10

When an addict dies is it suicide?

What is the difference between the death of a soldier on the front lines and the death of an addict on the sidelines?

Both fought in wars that were never meant to be won,

only one is met with parades and raised flags

while another is left with a relieved goodbye.

Who decides the difference between an honourable and a shameful death?

Who deems a loss a tragedy and another a relief?

Bravery cannot be measured on a scale or a chart,

bravery is a chipped tooth or a black eye,

bravery is facing the same damned hell every day

bravery is when you keep going while no one is watching,

while no one is caring.

Bravery is a medal, but sometimes it is also scar.
